Need help with pioneer install

mods, i know this is kinda the wrong section to post this but the audio/electronics hardly bite and i'm anxious to hurry up and install this. will delete thread once answer is found. hope you don't mind.

bought a pioneer DEH-P6000UB and have 1 question.
on the wiring harness, theres a blue/white wire that says:
connect to system control terminal of the power amp or auto-antenna relay control terminal (max 300mA 12 V DC).
where can i find this? can anyone w/ a FSM point it out?

Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question, but you can download the FSM for free in PDF form.

Here's where I got mine:

http://www.phatg20.net/component/opt...tory/Itemid,2/

I think you have to sign up on this site to be able to download, and for some reason I was having problems getting the download to start, but play around with it and you should be able to get it eventually.

That wire is used to hook it up to your amp remote wire(usually blue and skinny), if you are not running subs and amp, it is not used.

Yeah man unless you have an amp that wire does nothing for you.

If you do have an amp, you connect it to it, and it basically tells your amp to turn on and off with the HU. So don't worry about it

Exactly! One less wire to worry about.

One thing I may suggest is to put a switch on that wire if you are running it, that way you could turn the subs on/off with the switch of a button.

It is the fat black wire(bottom right IIRC when looking at it head on) that has a 90 degree bend(factory) and I guess looks like a large headphone jack type thing, this works our power antenna.

so the switch wire is built into the actual antenna plug...cool.
learn something new everyday, thanks

My 4 year old headunit allows me to turn on and off the subs...if anything I would install a switch that allows you to turn the HU on after the car is off...

Thats a nice feature, with my HU I cannot turn the subs on/off or even the amp, which is why I did mine this way with the switch at the amp remote. Turn that on/off, so will your amp/subs. With your setup does it turn the subs off only or the amp also? You can turn the HU on by simply switching your key to ACC. Even when the car is off, I can turn my amp/subs on/off with the switch(in ACC). Lets say Im at the drive-in watching two movies, if I want subs, I turn the switch ON, now I have bass. Thats gonna leave you stranded though(with my setup anyways), which is why I do it like this. That and sometimes I wanna drive without subs

I can only turn my sub off, well maybe I should rephrase that. I can have it so no sound comes through the sub. The amp doesn't turn off as far as I know...
I have my front components amped as well they are on when I turn the sub off

Ok, the way I do it, when you turn the car off, and its just ACC with stereo, I can still turn my amp/subs on with the hit of that button with the HU beeing ON the whole time. When you turn amp/subs ON it will drain the battery very quick. Now, when you turn the switch OFF you are back to factory stereo. I dont know if that makes much sense to you, but like this you cut off all power to your aftermarket stuff(except HU). I think what you are referring to as turning down your subs, is an option on your HU to controll it(got it too), but that way power is still running to everything I have done probably over 20 installs, almost 100% of those people came back wanting the switch put on.

ok, everything is working fine except i'm getting no reception from the radio.
i'm a complete audio newb so be easy. also, the power antenna doesn't work b/c the cord is just sitting there.

what do i do? do i need some kinda cord for the antenna jack behind the HU?
i don't have subs, just running on the stock speakers.

yea u need an adapter for the nissan antenna to fit. its called the nissan diversity antenna adapter. it costs like 5.99 at walmart. because we have an antenna with dual plugs instead of the regular plug in most aftermarket HUs

Didnt mean it in any hard feelings type o way, just trying to explain and make things clear and more understandable. And yeah, +1^ for the antenna adapter, should be plug n play to your factory
