Need help finding the TAM screw for RPM switch
Need help finding the TAM screw for RPM switch
Hi Guys as some of you all know I just finished installing MY 00 VI and the car starts with no problems thans to some ORG. Members for their help and advice.
Anyways I'm working on installing the RPM switch and I can't find the TAM screw. I though it was located in the back of the Display Bezel I took it off and I saw a screw labeled TM not TAM is this the right one?
Thanks for all your help in advance.

If memory serves me correctly, 98+ do not have the TAM screw. If your car is a 98-99, You may have to tap into the ECU wire - it's the white wire with the green stripe, pin #5.

I initially attempted the ECU method but decided on the TAM screw because it is such a tight cluster of wires. The RPM signal wire seemed to be buried, of course, deep inside of the bundle

You can also pull the tach signal from connector M50/F105, it's a white connector on the engine control harness, plugs up in the ECU area, next to the BCM. I believe you can get to it just by removing the driver side ECU access cover, undoubtedly a lot easier by removing the radio and BCM, though.
Looking at the back of the engine control harness side of the connector, clip up, it's the 3rd pin from the left, top row (W/G, it comes straight from the ECU to this connector).
