Can't Explain blinking CEL

Hey All,

My CEL was on earlier, did the ECU screw procedure and blinks came up as 0401 - Air intake temp. sensor. Checked that, turns out the connector was loose so I plugged it in, reset ECU and started back up with no light. Took the car around the block and the light started blinking, but not in any noticeable pattern or at any interval that I could determine. So I read the codes again, comes up as 0505 - no detected failure, air intake temp code is gone. Reset light again and took the car around again - same thing. Why is this happening? I searched around and found some posts saying that blinking light means cylinder misfire and other posts saying it means other nasty things, but if this was happening wouldnt the code for one of those things come up when I read it again instead of 0505? Car is running smoothly so unless cyl misfire is something very subtle, I'm pretty sure thats not it. Also, why would the light be blinking and then not come up with any codes when I checked? I followed the reset procedure word for word and the screw is turned back all the way counterclockwise. Any ideas?

Thanks

if you get 0505 then leave it alone for a while. If it doesn't go away in a few days and then reset it. go from there
