5.5 gurus step in please

ok lemme start off by saying i might go stick but later on down the line..lol

ok i think im losing power but im not too sure where,
let me start out with mods
headers-ss autochrome
undercrank pulley
true cold air intake
custom exaust with cattman axel back-still have resonator and cat
tranny cooler

now ive been beatin by a stock 5.5 gen and a altima ser not too sure if it could be wieght issues or wat..lol
at the track i barely broke 15's best time was 15.83
on the dyno i only made 205 hp....

It's your headers. The headers you have are basically stock manifolds, just polished up. They may even be worse for the car than the stock headers were.

205 hp is a little low but about what you should be putting down. what kind of tires are you running?

What is your oil comsumption like? When is the last time the plugs were changed? Have you tried resetting the ECU?

Just curious, but what do tires have to do with dyno HP numbers? lol

The weight of rims/tires can affect the outcome, but only by a bit. I'm positive it's the headers that are making you see low numbers. Get some Cattmans and a tune then report back.

MAF cleaner (dont jump into replacement yet)
spark plugs
93 octane if your not running it now
Redline Injector cleaner
Do you have the stock cat or any cat?
If so check it and make sure it is still flowing, if it isnt probably, alot to do with low number in output

Tires have almost no effect on HP, they will lower your numbers if they are too big for the car. The amount of effort it will take to spin big wheels hurts your output power band.

If You're a 5th Gen with the VQ30dE-K(modded w/ 205 whp), those #'s are about the same as a stock 5.5 Gen, so maybe that 5.5 Gen didn't beat you that bad, you just never caught up after they jumped you out the hole! I got my butt whipped by a SER @ the drag strip. His reaction time beat me, 100 more feet he was mine!

205 is about what a 5.5 puts down stock unless i'm wrong.

15.85 is horrible. i ran 15 flat with my 19s and a cooler full of beer and ice my 1st time at the track in my 5.5...stock they should run 14.7-14.9...

good luck!

I 'm sorry! I thought he was a 5.0 gen! 202-208 whp is the window for 5.5 Gen's and the stock 1/4 mile was 14.9-15.3 sec in all the mags that I've read which tested the 5.5 gen (Sport Compact Car)! He's definitely may have a problem with his MAF sensor or cat! Or technique

sounds like you aren't getting the power to the ground. What tires are you running?

whats your A/F? do you have an AFC? I think you need a good tune, ditch those headers and get some better ones. Also any check engine lights for the o2 sensors on the front bank? also check your coilpacks, spark plugs, make sure not misfiring.

get some cattmans and do a tune and you should be around 225-230. they are expensive but it's that or a turbo for your next power adder.

As for your 1/4 time perhaps you don't launch well what was your 60? got a slip for us to see?

That's a low estimate. Should be closer to the 240 range.

What is your trap speed? ET can be affected by wheelspin, bogging, etc but the trap speed is a good indicator of the power your car is making. If you are under 93-94 with an automatic that you are probably missing some power that you should have.
