The tension in my clutch is gone! what happened?

Iwent and started my car tonight, it was really cold- mid 30's and i pushed in the clutch and when i started to let up on the clutch, it has no tension in it, it pops up, but it feels terrible and wont go into gear. do you think i just need to get some clutch fluid? it doesnt spring at all. Thanks for the help!

Either the clutch fluid is a little cold or maybe the grease on the T/O bearing shaft(on the tranny) is a little cold.

Check your clutch reservior. If its empty, then check for leaks along the whole system. My bet is that you'll find your leak right at the slave cylinder. I would get a clutch slave cylinder rebuild kit which will include a seal, a spring, and a boot. I'm guessing that the cold weather caused your clutch slave cylinder seals to contract, allowing your fluid to drain out. After figuring everything out, you'll need to bleed the clutch and you should be good to go.
