Ran my 2K2 with a 4.2L Audi A6

After meeting my 1000 mi break-in obligation, I was exiting a major highway onto a smaller 2 laner, when up behind me quickly comes some HID's (it was dark).

Well, when I see something moving that fast from behind, It's either a cop (they don't have HID's) or a challenge. And since most most american pieces of s%&t con't put them in either, I figured it was something in the German or high-end Jap market, and maybe worth some fun. So I nailed it.

I was able to pull away pretty well until about 100 but then he stayed right with me and looked like he was ready to eat my lunch. I'm sure he was screwing with me. Because of the road conditions I decide to back off and take the next exit. When he saw me dropping off, he pulled back and followed me. At the end of the exit, I pulled over, to check out what it was that was doing such a great job of keeping up with me.

When I saw "Audi" I almost puked. Did my hot Maxi get matched by a 2.8? Nope, on the back side was the "4.2" logo. Deeeeeeeeep Phew!!!!!

He rolled down his window and told me I have very fast car. That V8 is a fast car at almost twice the price.

Audis were POS' in the 80's-early 90's. They put 4.2 engine on A6 and A8 models, but they're all autos. Some dude I know has A6 4.2, he said he raped a Q45 on the hwy. Nice run.

The 2.7T is better than the 4.2.

You're joking right? You know they're owned by VW and the cars share common platforms right? The A4 and the Passat are the same car. Not real unique.

I know...but look at the performence(S4,S6,S8,2.7T) all those engines are awsome...the VW doesn't share any engines with Audi except the 1.8T,2.8 and 2 liter. The VW doesn't have the sporty cars as the audi, they don't have twin turbo cars, they don't have the luxry as audi, there aren't roomier as the audi...its a whole diffrent world between those two

what are you arguing about? Look at those ugly cheap used Audis made in 80's. Audi was nothing before the aquisition by VW. VW turned things around nicely. Nothing is so "unique" about them, since affordable entry-level models share VW platform. Once you're talking top-line $60K models, there's plenty of competition there. And yes, 4WD is in every Subaru. After all, Audis are just nice cars, not unique.

d@mn, at almost twice the price, that 4.2 v8 should have beaten you by almost twice as much.

Great run TrexMax!!

A6 4.2's are sweet cars. They're fast, but with a curb weight of close to or over 4000 lb (I forget what they are exactly) with all of that extra Quattro AWD hardware I'm not surprised your 2k2 was able to keep him behind you

THe 4.2 is meant to be a smooth highway luxury cruiser
In stock form auto-vs. auto..i'd put my $$ on the 4.2. But throw a couple mods on the 6-speed 2.7T and it's bye-bye 4.2
