My sunroof will tilt with the tilt button but does nothing when i slide the open button. it has always worked up until now. What could the problem be?

 

The switch is probably the culprit. But to make sure i would see if you are getting power to the motor when the button is pressed. check connections at both ends as well and make sure all connections are tight and clean

 

try holding the button down like your closing it for ten seconds.

 

somebody made reference to a reset procedure in scottwax's sun roof post. maybe try searching that... unless holding the button down for 10 seconds is that procedure.

 

Works about 90% of the time so you may have to repeat it. For some reason, if you don't use your sunroof regularly, it only tilts and you have to reset it to open it. I only use mine in the spring and fall so when it cools off or warms up enough to use it, I have to do the reset.

 

what i did to reset that was UNPLUG my neg battery for about an hour

or you could disconnect the sunroof relay and plug it back in

 

WOW. IT WORKED!!
