What came first and second, and how did they compare.

Also, are you driving a stick or auto.

I have the ypipe and jwtpopcharger and am thinking of the ECU or a RT cat. Suggestions?

I don't have a Y-Pipe on my 5-speed Max(yet!), but I do have the JWT enhanced ECU. It really brought the midrange of the car alive. The power from 3800-5500 rpm's is incredible. After my wife drove the car the first time with the ECU installed, she came home and referred to as a "beast", as she said it snapped her neck a time or two when she was taking off. Not only is the midrange better, but the power also comes on stronger starting at about 2700-2800 rpm's. The JWT ECU was worth my money. How big of gain did you notice with the Y-Pipe?

Do they make a ecu upgrade for the 96 model? Is it worth getting with an auto?

Actually, the ECU in my car is for a 95. JWT kept giving me the runaround when they would get the 96 and later ECUs accomplished, so I went ahead and stuck a 95 ECU in. I haven't had any problems at all with the different year ECU in. Talk to Cattman at Cattman performance, as he is the one who led me in this direction. He also has a 95 JWT ECU in his 97. The main reason I stuck the ECU in was to get rid of my speed limiter. I live in Germany (I'm in the military), and the GXE's 112 mph limiter really bugged me on the autobahn.

Group buy on UPRD ECU, and if you have a 95-96 you are the lucky ones. Check out info on maximadriver.com go to UPRD ECU info........... $425 w/group deal and should be compared to the JWT ECU just alot less $

I have both the JWT ECU and Y-pipe >>>>>

I had the JWT ECU installed first and the increase in power is very noticeable using my VERICOM performnce computer I measured a gain of about 10-12 peak FWHP which is about 15 crank hp, with the STILLEN Y-Pipe it also gave about the same increase in FWHP about 10-12. Together they make the car scream. I still have the stock exhaust so my exhaust is still very stock like and quiet. I have a 2000 Maxima muffler that I will have installed later this week. I do have the a cone filter and I only measure a gain of about 3 FWHP. Any more questions e-mail me.

Is there any drawbacks to installing a upgraded ECU? Sounds like a great mod especially with a Y-pipe instal. Any info will help.. thanks.
