ok, i have a 96 GLE and for the entire life that ive had it, the passenger side will only unlock if i manually put the key into that specific door or i reach over and unlock it myself. Niether the keyless entry nor when i unlock the driver side door "twice", it still doesnt open. Every once in a blue moon if its feeling sassy it will open up but thats a rarity. do you guys have any idea what could be causing this? thanks

 

my 95 gle locks open but you can see that they dont open all the way. its the wiring getting old and you could get some contact spray like crc or w/e and spray into the locks and that might help.

I really doubt its the wiring 'getting old' , more likely the mechanical parts really dirty, like old dirty grease. like it's only 14 years of dirt.

 

Does it lock with the keyless or the master controls? If you lock the RF door manually, do all the other doors lock as well?

 

I have the same problem, I'm sure its just a simple wire thats loose. I would say, clean the connections that connect to the door, window, and all the other connections to that door.

My 1998 does this sometimes.. has started with the winter coming...
Mine is more finiky though.... I've had it 2 or 3 times where i leave the car running while i go to brush off the snow.. and when I go to open the doors they've all locked... except for the front passenger door... which just doesn't seem to want to lock...

I've since gone and had a spare key made..
