Sure, it will fit. But your tailights will no longer fit right. You'll have to upgrade to the 97-99 tails...

u wont have any problem fiitting the trunk, but the 95 trunk tail lights r totally different u will get the look of a 95-96 maxima instead of a 97-99 so ur best option would be if u have a 98 maxima, get a 97-99 maxima trunk and 97-99 maxima trunks look a hell of a lot beter as well.

Your sorta right. He has a '98 and is getting a trunk from a '95. He would actually have to downgrade to the '95-'96 tails, then it would be fine.

Maybe im reading this wrong, but it seems to me that he is switching his trunk from 98 to 95, therefore he would need to switch and get the 95-96 tails to replace his 97-99 tails

enik23, you do realize there's a difference in styling/appearance between the 95/96's and the 97-99 trunks, right?

Yeah, I read it again. You're right. He'll need some 95-96 tails instead.

The 95-96 trunk has a slight "wave" indention between the tails. Kind of hard to describe. Personally, I like the styling of the 97-99 trunk better.

there has been only 1 person i can think of who installed 97-99 tails on a 95-96 trunk. he cut the tails and the trunk i believe. i think he was from canada, had a green 96 with 97-99 led altezzas. it looked ok.

if the new trunk had the lights you wouldn't need to change them, just the lights would look silly because the brake and the turn signal lights were switched. as far as i'm aware you can still use the outer lights with a newer or older trunk but not the inners.

and enik23 u will also need the 97-99 maxima tail lights harness as well, the back part of the 95-96 taillights are different than 97-99 tail lights. the harness of a 95-96 cannot be used for a 97-99,

no u dont have to rewire anything all u need to get is the 97-99 harness for the taillights. the harness that comes with a 95-96 is different than the harness used on a 97-99 tallight.
