ABS actuator connector

I am trying to diagnose a problem with the ABS but I can't find the control unit connector.
There are two connectors coming out and up of the abs but they are not the control unit connectors. Anyone have an idea where the connector is located?

its on the abs motor actuator itself, it big with lots of wires coming to it, can't miss it.

look under the master cylinder for the abs motor actuator

most likely, to give you more room to see the connector and to diagnose your problem. Its easy to do anyways.

you can see what you are looking for in this picture, notice all the pins?

I was just about to send out a reply to your PM, but figured I'd see if you started a thread first, here goes. 1st, you can ignore connector E9 & the entire ABS section of the FSM, I did the same thing, but it's the TCS section you want! Assuming your car has TCS, which IIRC it's a loaded GLE W/tcs.......

I checked the codes again, now I am getting 63 solenoid, 31RR sensor, and 35 RL sensor. I took a video of the diagnosis blinking light. Ill send it to you if you would like to see it.

OK, because I swear to god all it was spitting out was the one code, I'm 100% positive on that. Now, since your getting a new code here is what my next step would be if I was working on it, one of the first of which is checking the resistance of each sensor, and the grounds, and the ground for the selenoid relay is also one of the first steps, but I'd start right at the module, but first:

Are the wheel bearings OK, I believe they are, I didn't notice any play, but I never really drove it while listening (howl when turning?). Just because it's a 5th gen, plus the FSM says to look for them when diagnosing sensors. But I'm just mentioning this in passing, I doubt it's the cause of your problem.

Connector E9 is the main connector right at the module, BUT it is only there on cars that came without TCS!! Ask me how long I spent in the FSM to figure that one out, lol. It sounds like you have TCS, which means the control module is located under the driverside dash area somewhere, and it means you have no connector E9 but instead E91, so you need to follow the diagrams & diagnosis steps in the TCS section, not in the ABS section. Don't worry, I was doing the same thing for awhile. Find the module under the dash & you will find the motherload, aka E91. The FSM shows a pic in the TCS section but it is hard to visualise. On 4th gens, it was located behind the kick-panel next to your left foot. On the 5th gen I think it might be located up higher but in the same area, somewhere behind the DLC maybe? The 5th gens E91 shares a similarity with the 4th gen one, the E91 connector is held in by a locking lever assembly- I've seen that lever not fully locked in wreak havoc on 4th gen abs systems, codes up the ***.

Now, step 1.1: Disconnect the control unit connector, E91, inspect the pins, and reconnect it & see if you still have problems. If it is not locked, bingo.

Next steps if that doesn't do anything: Take the main connector E91 of again, and there are 3 pins that are ground wires, they are #28, 29, 39. Check them with a multimeter. If they are good, your next steps are to just keep following the FSM procedure's that are listed in the TCS section not the abs section since it is a TCS car with different pin's. By this point you'll be getting the hang of it a little more.

If you get confused reading the corresponding pin #'s and locations on the connectors from the diagrams let me know, there is a helpful section at the very beginning of the FSM that explains the H/S & T/S part of it, but it can get a little confusing,. if you read that stuff and need clarification or after you check the grounds and then the resistance's of each sensor right at the module, well let me know and we'll go from there.

Tip: The easiest way to double check that you are reading the pin #'s correct on E91 will be to connect a multi-meter between pin #16 of E91 with #9 on the DLC (The one you short out to check codes), if you have continuity you're reading them correctly.

I am so confused. I have a 03 Maxima SE auto with TCS. Randomly the TCS light will come on and the TCS will engage which prevents me from accelerating. i can not go over 20MPH. This happens at random times maybe about once a week or so. I was trying to figure out if one of my sensors was bad but am confused by the process. It seems like there are two different ways, one which is under the air box and another which is by the OBDII port? I have looked at the FSM and took the air box out. I think I found where I am supposed to unplug the wires from the ABS module (Directly below the brake fluid?), but how do you take the wires out? I tried everything and could not get them out. I also looked on the inside of the car and couldn't figure out what I was supposed to check there. Can someone please help me out? If not I am going to have to go to the dealer because it really is unsafe to drive. Thanks in advance
