Repairing Hail Dents w/ Ice

My pops told me about this method: Heat up a hail damaged area with a heat gun, then pour ice water over it and the dents will pop out. It makes sense in theory. Any of you guys ever try it?

If you buy the compressed air in an aerosol can; the "dust" stuff. And flip it upside down it will spray out an extremely cold chemical combination that is some odd negative 100+ degree's that I've seen used in the method you're talking about. I tried it on my car and it didn't work.

nope.
Does your dent have a crease in it?
if it doesn't you can pull it out with a suction cup.

it's called "pops a dent"

it only works on big dents, not little ones that hail would make.

things like what you're talking about should be prefaced with "Performed by trained professionals. don't try this at home".

When the pros do it, it works. When the average Joe does it, it just ruins the paint.

Nah, it's just those damn annoying tiny dents. I saw the duster can trick on a video site, but the dent was huge. I've also heard of using dry ice on a hot day. The theory is that by changing the temperature of the metal drastically it causes it to shrink slightly and self repair small blemishes. Has anyone actually tried it, or are you simply thinking it won't work?

the dry ice trick does work, but usually they use a heat gun as well, and that you need to be careful with.
I know in my area there are a few places that charge for repair by the panel whne it comes to hail damage, you may want to look into that
