Clicking noise behing the dash

So, since ive owned my 92 maxima se if i have the heat on blowing through the front vents it makes this clicking noise behind my dash so i usually just use the setting for defrost and feet, my gf recently used my car and put it on the front vent setting and drove it like this for awhile and now its stuck on that setting, i can switch it (digi climate control) to other settings but it stays blowing out the front vents no matter what and this clicking noise is constant now behind the dash..

Any ideas? problem with the digi climate control? or maybe somethings behind the dash? but what? i intend on tearing the dash out to check but i dont even know what i would be looking for or what could be causing this

thanks in advance

well the digi module is probley def on the fritz... and i would check the air duct for any little objects that may have flown in and are bouncing around when the air blows on them

Same thing was the case with my Canadian VE. Not the clicking, but it was stuck on a setting. Try and change settings while looking at the mode door linkage underneath driver side of the dash. Download an FSM and read through the auto climate section, it tells you where everything is located and how to adjust. As far as the clicking sound, the only way to find out is to take peices off and try and track it down. Probably something extremely simple.

i have a digi contrul unit thing i had planned on doing a conversion in my max but never got around to it, and dont really have any time now and dont see myself doing it. If you have trouble finding one at a junk yard or something, Im willing to sell mine.

good luck, i dont know too much about them
