im buying a new max.. what you think of this car?

Hey guys i know alot of you guys are knowlegable about maximas, so please help me..

im currently looking at a 06 maxima (rebuildable title) he said he fixed skirt, hood, headlight..on the right of car..
the cars located in NY.

specs are:
2006 NISSAN MAXIMA SE LOW MILESYear - 2006
Make - Nissan
Model - Maxima se
Color - bue
Mileage - 27K
Condition - MINT! LIKE NEW!
Drives 100%, has been VERY well maintained, Freezing cold AC, FM/AM Radio, CD/DVD Player, CD CHANGER, Navigation System, BLACK Leather Seats, SUNROOF, Power Windows, Power Seats, Power Mirrors, Memory Seats, Tilt Wheel, Powerful V-6 Engine, 3.5L, CLEAN

the guy has the infinity Qx56 rims on them but there scratched up and need painting..

he has a custom grill and spolier for trunk and back windshield.
and the roof is painted gray and he has a pioneer navi system in middle of dash board.

i drove the car it drove okay just needs better shocks since he has 20" rims.

the back bumper is chipped up

the back of the passenger seats leather is ripped.

i believe the shocks are about to die.

and the tires dont have much of a threat life left..
paint has little dots everywhere.

i tried offering him 8500$ he said no but he'll take 9500$..

do you guys think its worth it? please advise

sounds decent...almost too good to be true

get a carfax report

and beware Qx56 wheels are 6 lug. maximas are 5 lug. look into that

is it just the pics, or is the roof silver/gray??

It's not mint condition, those aren't Qx wheels, tires aren't cheap (nor do they have threats) and it need shocks and paint?

I'd pass... Especially with a salvage title.

Theres more to the story. Salvage titles are a little harder to get than a headlight/fender.

Looks like problems waiting to happen. They're hoping the flashy wheels and stereo will help it sell.

The guy advertised mint condition... "like new"

I didn't know Maxima's came new with a chip in the rear bumper and a rip in the leather. I must of got lucky!

I'd skip just because that thing doesn't seem like it was taken care of.

I wouldnt buy it, buying new shocks, fixing the back seat leather, and buying new tires since the ones on the car have very little thread left. It seems too much work & more money being spent, if I were you, I keep looking around and don't waste money & time on that car. Good luck

That car has too many ugly scars.... 27K miles for an 06 sound pretty good. But the bad shocks, torn seat, scratched rim, chipped bumper and ugly roof, forget it!!!

Try looking for a Max with under 60K miles and get that tranny checked!

That has to be a salvaged title for that cheap. he could sell that car private sale and get more than that with that low miles.

Search local dealers, an 06 with 27k should be around 15-20k, price does not sound right especially if it was taken care of.

Rims are hott.. but are 6 lug... I agree with Kof get you a Carfax pronto and see what the deal is... 9500 is cool 8500 is better though.... If those are the only problems I would go for it....

Make him lower the price thats the only way id justify a salvage.
The rims are fixable and actually look good with the grille.

But if u can find a better deal then avoid it. IMO

"The paint has little dots on it all over?" Are you kidding me??? Do you know how much a quality repaint would cost? Salvage title?? TOTALLY agree with the majority sentiment: DON'T BUY IT!!!

27K and needs new shocks? With all you mention wrong, I can see you dumping another $2K in it easily. And a salvage title--I say run from it. You can do better--it may cost more but too many signs turning me off. The fun is in the hunt.

Its hard to get insurance on a car that has a salvage title. . even a rebuilt title most insurance companies wont insure you with cars that were classified as totaled or junk. . dont do it . . keep looking. . you'll find a better one. .
