That was a b!tc# to change. Had to cut off a piece of new hose at work. My friend lent me some long needle nose pliers and it was easy after that.

the backside of your tb will remain cleaner with your new pcv valve. you wont have to worry cleaning that out so often now.

yea I changed my fuel filter it was kind of a ***** to get to but not too bad. Prolly because I don't have ABS brakes

here is a good pic of where the PCV valve should be:

Disconnect the pcv hose on the other end, not from the valve and remove the one bolt holding it down. Then you can pull the pcv valve off along with the hose.

Would you tell me where exactly the bolt is? I looked at my 96 GXE. Seems to me it's more like a plug-in type of device. I must have overlooked something?
Thanks

Try spraying some WD40 into the valve if it's clogged. Mine was a bit dirty, but it still passed the "rattle" and pressure test. There's no point in replacing the PCV if you can de-gunk it. Mine had a build-up of soot on the valve cover side and that was after 5 years of use.

That works (or use brake cleaner if you don't have WD40 handy). My personal opinion would be to always replace it considering the cost of the part plus the "relative" difficulty removing/replacing it compared to other vehicles that I've owned ... guess those old GMs did have some relative advantages.

You know the 6th spark plug all the way in the back on the right (the biggest b!tc# to change) well anyways I had to take this thing off to get to that last plug.... that thing is held on by two nuts behind it (the tips of the bolts look like stars) anyway... you'll notice two hoses connected to that thing. the one leading down toward the intake manifold is on the pcv valve... hope u got skinny fingers or a pair of long needle nose pliers.

I think I might do my plugs this weekend. This can be added on I guess to my list. So does it make much of a difference? What does the valve do?

Talk about resurrection, Jesus. on common sense, go out and measure or read your reply in the thread you started.

What I really meant to ask was, will the hose type affect the flow ? As fas as I remember, Checkers sells mostly FUEL LINE hoses? I had thought Nissan made 'special' sized hoses or something. In terms of measuring, I've encountered
I'll check my checkers then, though the ones here don't carry much seriously.

*I'm just re-bumping because I searched it and hoped people who have had real experiences with it can perhaps follow up or something.
Thanks

No, hose type will not affect flow in this particular situation. Fuel line hose is overkill for what you're trying to do, but it will work just fine. Hop on the phone and call Napa, Kragen, Pepboys, Autozone etc etc. if you're uncomfortable using fuel line hose.
