I been searching for the past hour now.. for the 3.5 swap

is there a thread that has a write up on doing the 3.5 swap in our 4th gens? or maybe i am looking at wrong keywords?

because all that i am seeing is the same question over and over again. different threads, same questions.

like this

"does the motor mounts of the 3.5 fir the 3.0 mounts?"

"can the 4th gen tranny survive the 3.5?" <- answer to that is no.. internals too weak

"has anyone done the swap?"

i am needing a complete 100% no BS write up on how to do it. i searched, but just found questions like those above.

can someone help me?

TIA

Thanks

yeah thanks.. i called blackwind.. and he pointed me the all motor section..

I will be honest, like most people here. i took the search feature way too much as a life saver.. i forgot that we had a all motor section.. hell, i forget we had other threads sections on this forum too.

But thanks!!

now to do research and a little thinking to see if i really want to do this.

There isn't a concrete 100% no BS writeup cuz there's too many variables. Different year maximas require differrent wiring. That's why if you don't take the liberty to learn how to read the factory service manual, you will get nowhere fast. Everything else is here. The rest is up to you. It should get easier once you actually start the project.

wow a 3.5 in a 4th gen. when i first read you can do that, i thought you were just swapping internals. i didn't know you can actually bolt up a bigger motor to the tranny. that's crazy!

i've been away from maxima's too long. i need to hang around here more often!
