How do I remove double side 3M tape

The previous owner of my maxima put in these gay woodgrain interior trim from eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/NISSAN-MAXIMA-199...item2c52efc503

well it looked fine in te beginning except now they are starting to tear and look ugly due to sun exposure, how do I get rid of this crap? Anyone remove 3M tape before from the interior? Will it leave a mark or should I just buy new interior?

Ronsonol Lighter Fluid works well for removing stuff like that.

for removing the adhesive stuff left after you peel off the actual tape... yes... the lighter fluid works just fine.

also, you could try goo gone. you won't have to worry about staining the interior.

removing glue residue

Another thing you can use to remove a lot of gooey stuff is Murphy's Oil Soap. This stuff is made from a vegetable product and won't stain, mark or deteriorate plastic or vinyl.

Added bonus - the Murphy's Oil Soap KICKS *** on tree sap. I had a bad case of pine tree sap in my wife's Mercedes. Tried all kinds of stuff and then used the Murphy's - gone in no time! Doesn't remove the wax from the paint either.

you can polish out the fading and light scratches but if its chipping and cracked then yea replace it or remove it i have never remove but im guessing its just plastic pieces that are taped on and as everyone above me said use a heat gun and or goo gone/ rubbing alcohol

i guess i was just trying to give another option

or after removing it and it does leave a mark you can polish them out

at work i use pro-sol to take off gunk like that, like really bad build up... I shaved my emblems in the back and had the left over residue from the molding but when i used the pro-sol, it took it off really easy.. you can find it at the store, the one i use is called PRO-SOL Bug/Tar remover.. its non-flammable also...
