I have a basic cone style air intake setup in my 97. I just cleaned it with the K&N filter cleaner this weekend.

I am pretty sure that all CAI systems require the hole to be cut, Otherwise its not "CAI" its probly just a short ram, which is fine. You should be able to pick one up for $50-100. GL.
