ran into problems installing oovi, gurus please help my noob ****

ok so i had a oovi kit sitting in my basement for god knows how long and I thought it was complete. So i start stripping my 99max everything is going ok. I put on the new valve covers then notice that i only have half of the 00vi injector harness. I have 3 injector harness' now.

this is what im thinking, modify the 99 injector harness to fit the new injectors??

one other thing, i cant find the thread that tells you what to buy from home depot for the IACV adapter plate.

As always i appreciate any help, flames are welcome cause this is a noob problem!!!

I had my 00vi drilled. It worked great and requires less of a tune. Well im just guessing it requires less since it already runs a bit rich stock so adding more air to the mix should (in theory) make the a/f ratio better.

hmm lets see, i dont know how easy itll be to find clips, but if u find a way to modify urs let me know, cuz i have a friend in the same predicament, only 3 clips. you *may* be able to find some little connectors to put directly on the injector pins, but it would suck if they touched eachother, so idk about that. maybe solder them for the time being? once again, risky i think.

as far as the iacv, i dont think many people have tried to make their own plate out of home depot parts. i have seen one, but it looked like a bit of work. id just use the 5th gen iacv for now and if you must, then find an adaptor. i have zero issues from my 5th gen iacv.

you should probably have them welded shut because jb weld can break off in the engine.

if anyone else has any other ideas as to how to fill the holes let me know because im in the process of doing my 00vi as well

An idea i just had was to use loctite on a threaded rod cut to a certain length and allow time for it to seal

I just cut the tube off right at the bottom portion of the guide tube and screwed a bolt into the chunk that was just cut off.
Heres a pic of the part that is not going on the car...I cant get a good pic of the blockoff on the car.

i blocked of the egr using a quarter and jb weld. hasnt failed. lol. i sealed up my stock bolt holes with jb weld. worked great cause even if it does break its not going to go in the engine. its going to fall by where the knock sensors located which is harmless.

Im actually going to be going the same route as you. exactly. I'm working on blocking off the EGR as well. I haven't received the kit yet....I should have it by next Friday but i planned on removing the Guide tube all together

you have to leave the sensor hanging in the engine bay so no code will appear and Nissan sells a plug for the exhaust manifold I can't locate the part number. Also what could be done is to take a couple sheets of aluminum using an EGR gasket and bolt the aluminum with the gasket o the back of the manifold.

No ideas yet how to block off the exhaust manifold portion of the EGR

Have you checked my 00VI writeup? There are wiring diagrams for the RPM switch in there, as well as some of the other things you pointed out.

I still have 10.8:1 AFR non-tuned between 5500 and 6500rpm after the VI transplant.

Buy the egr plug from the dealer on 2000-01 models. But be very sure that you use the right socket to remove the egr guide tube on the rear manifold, if not it'll strip (dont ask be how I know!!!lol) be sure the socket is very solid on the ''nut'' then unscrew with air tools.

'question for vqed' do i really need air tools? i cant use a cheater bar?

This is how far i am so far.
I got the whole 4th gen im off. I got the new valve covers on, but i have to take them off again cause i forgot to run sealant round the gaskets, rofl.

I have not removed the VIAS system, or the EGR system yet. Those are the next things on the list to do. After that im drilling the the 00vi im to fit on the flipped 4thgen lim. Then im gonna start drilling wholes for the brake booster and then drill the little mini hole on the left side of the 00vi. I have titanium drill bits thanks to my dad so thats gonna cut thru this like a hot knife through buter.

he left me all of his tools, may god bless his soul.
