thats got all your color code info in it... bout half way down it says artic white pearl QN0. its part of the stickies that said read before you post haha. but if your paint is seperating from the metal or plastic, it probably just had a bad prep. it could also be your clear coat on top, when it gets old it tends to bubble and feel like that.

anybody else have any thoughts. those are the only two reasons i can think of...

It'll also be on the tag under your hood mounted to the firewall on the passenger side.

That depends on several things. What kind of equipment will you be using during the process? Where are you going to let the paint dry/cure? Do you know what you want/need to do as in how many coats of primer/paint/clear? Paint quality?

If you are planning on using rattle cans than your results will be pretty shoddy

i wouldnt try it if i were you. if youve got paint issues then you probably need to take it down a few layers and do the primer and base coats, then your clears and whatnot. if i recall correctly, nissan uses a 3 layer pearl? then clear... even when i paid 1000 to get my rear ended bumper fixed at a good shop they still screwed the pearl up! not to mention, if you have to buy all the paint and equipment, it probably isnt worth the cost. just my opinion!

Yep.

I suggest bringin it to a shop (not MAACO) and getting an estimate. If u don't like the price then think about doing the prep work yourself (ie sanding and priming)

+1 on not using MAACO...

If you go to Geico.com - (even without having their insurance) - you can look up recommended body shops - Those body shops tend to be the 'best' in your area...

Oh, and the Pearl is indeed a 3 coat process - (technically 4 with the primer) - primer/base/pearl/clear ...

Just my thoughts.

definately no maaco. of course they will get it done cheap! probably even the cheapest, but dont expect things to get taped, and expect overspray, oh and if you wanted it to match the rest of the panels, you might as well just save yourself the heartache!

good idea with the geico research. also, yahoo locals could work too. or even a nissan dealership. and if they quote to high, you could try your hand in the body work and prep. then tape what you need to off and just drive up there for them to spray it! thats not to expensive normaly!
