'02 Bose system questions
I have a 2002 SE with the Bose 6 CD system. When I first got the car 3 weeks ago and set the radio presets, I saw "None" (for non-RDS stations), or "Jazz", "Public", etc. (for RDS stations) in the display. I just realized, however, that now the program type does not show up in the display. Even if I now reprogram a preset, I don’t get the program type displayed. If I press "PTY" and flip thru the presets, all stations show the same program type, i.e., the last program type that was selected, not the program type that I saw when I first programmed the preset. If I try to reprogram the program type (by pressing the preset while the correct PTY is displayed), again, all stations show the same program type. I’ve re-read the owner’s manual a dozen times and can’t figure this out. Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong?
Another question: The owner’s manual implies that you can insert a single CD simply by inserting it into the slot (without pressing the "LOAD" button first), or you can load multiple CDs into the changer by pressing the "LOAD" button first. I am only able to insert a CD if I press "LOAD" first. Is this correct, or should I be able to insert a single CD without pressing "LOAD"?
Thanks,
Dave

I also have a 2002 SE with the Bose. I haven't had any problems with the RDS, but I rarely use it. I played around a little, but there seems to be very few stations that actually transmit the info in the D.C. area.
It's a neat idea though.
I'm not sure, but I think you press the 'load' button followed by one of the numbers(1-6) to load one CD and you hold the 'load' button for more then a second to load 'em all.
How are ya likin' your 2002?
