Drop the tranny pan and change filter?

The dealership told me they had to change my oil when the tranny started acting bad. They just drained and refill.

Is there a filter that we have to change somewhere? I mean, aint it better to drop and clean the pan, change filter, etc?

Thx

yes it is better to drop and clean and change filter. You have to ask for that service which costs more due to labor fees. Also the dealership will try and sell you on the flush service.

the best thing is when you change your oil you must change your fillter

so the way to do is :

1_ change oil with filter
2_ cahnge oil
3_ change oil with filter
4_ change oil

& do it by that way

so when you see the oil is almost black

clean your engine * change the fillter * Change the oil

i hope so you have been understand what i mean

Peace

I looked at this as well, and after reviewing the drawings I did not see a filter of whatsoever for the 5AT at least. Most likely if there was a filter it would have been on the 4AT as that could be power flushed. I'm not certain of the CVT tranny,(06-08). I double checked with the transmission shop I trust, and they told me as I had thought after reviewing the drawings the 5AT was designed as a sealed unit and that it should last for the life of the car with just draining and filling.

Right, checked the manual, there is no filter for the 5at.

How much oil drains when you drain it? 3,4,5?

Approximately 4qt/4 litres, haven't done it yet. I did have about almost 4 litres readded when the transmission cooler seal was replaced due to a leak I had. I will be doing another drain and fill in about a month or so just before my road trip. Make sure you get a new drain plug gasket, and torque the hex ATF drain plug to 29 ft/lbs. Since I don't know if you are in Canada, if you are, you will need a 10 Hex socket to torque the drain plug.
