NEVER EVER run the power wire through the door jamb!!! You can have a fire!!! The best place to run it is (looking at the front of the car) to the left or underneath the master cylinder) <---thats where mine are (i have 3 though)

 

you will have to drill a hole. it is not really that hard. i had mine right through the fire wall. mine is on the side where the battery is. it is right next to the steering column. just make sure both sides of the fire wall are clear.

 

Actually, the better place to run it is inside the fender, right next to the wiring harness. you can then go through the firewall with NO drilling, and the grommet is already there. it comes out in a very convenient place to run the wire along the inside of the door sill to the trunk..
here's a shot of it.. (the clean wire loom is my 2awg power wire)..
it goes through the grommet for the hood release cable, but you can also stick it through the wire harness grommet- just be VERY careful not to knick a wire when poking a hole in the grommet.

THREE!? What the He#$ you need 3 power wires for? I just have a 2g and it works fine for two of the biggest amps Alpine makes and a Batt and cap!
