Oh stealership... FU!
Oh stealership... FU!
So Im not dead, Just been incognito. New job, Moved to NY, super busy. Car was doing great untill 2 weeks ago then BAM, SES light. Car was stalling out, idle was rough etc.
Ended up being the EGR valve. So In an act of desperation (I have no wrench time these days, works kicking my ***) I went to the stealership... needless to say it was $1500. Heres what got done, lmk if you think I got raped hard lol.
1. New EGR Valve
2. New AC Lines (All)
3. Ac Charge/Service
4. Fuel System Service
5. Diagnostic (out of warranty)
6. Oil Change
7. Tire Rotation
8. Detail
Took 2 days to complete everything, total was $1496.34. Does that sound about right? BTW CNA Warranty didnt cover any of it, even though its "Bumper to Bumper"

Why did all your AC lines need to be changed??? Was this preventive or were there leaks in them?
At very least the 3rd party warrantee should have covered the EGR valve since it was causing problems. The AC, if it was leaking due to a bad part, they would have also been a warrantee including service labor and recharge. But if just preventative maintenance on a currently working part they won't pony up. The oil and detail are obviously not covered.
Looks like it's time to get a new warrantee company, or plead your case back to them for at very least the EGR...

wow for $1,500 I could have put a new motor in for you ,
setup a n2o kit...
yes you got the **** , and you got it deep , with no lube , just str8 dry **** raped
gotta love NISSAN , if your in there for 1 thing , EGR , they went ahead and said *oh we did this and that *
not only the fact how do you really know they acutally change the lines?
what i tell people if your going to go to stearship , white out or mark the part or peice that needs to be replace if you can , mark it with a white out, some marker that stains or even take pics before it goes in to see if the part was acutally change.
for all you know they just zero the ECU and restted everything.
these days it doesnt pay for dealership if your paying out your pockets.. if its under warranty these goof ball techs will milk the clock during these hard times for all mechanics/techs/speed shop/ fab shop

yea heres the main thing , if you agree to it then its your fault,
if they did the job then said to you we did this now pay up , I would be calling the Nissan HQ and getting the manager name of that dealership as well as the service writers name and raise hell

Im going back down on Tuesday, Already called the service dept. I talked to my mechanic down in Florida at a legit Nissan Dealer and he told me they scammed me hard. This is going to be interesting. Oh not to mention that the problem I was having with rough idle is still happening even though they "replaced" the EGR.
Normally I wouldn't have let them touch my car, but I started a new job and its 100+ miles of driving a day. Needless to say Im strapped for time, I just couldn't fix it myself with limited tools/time (all my tools are in FL still)

hell naw!!! i know theyre thieves but they basically stuck u up
do wat u can to try and get some of that money back at least man if not all since they didnt fix the problem and as far as far as cna warranty wat kind of bumper to bumper policy is that u can easily take them to small claims court and win if they are not willing to abide by theyre warranty

How many miles? You got taken to the cleaners as all Nissan Dealerships have been selling the fuel system service it's a scam, The AC lines is a new one I have never heard of a 6th generation needing those. Was your AC working when you brought it in? Why did you ok all that work?

i got raped like this once and regret not doing this to takes the assH*les to court
If they did everything you listed, sorry to say it but that sounds about right for cost. If they did things they shouldn't have without you telling them to, then you should have complained at the time of pickup. Never too late just would have had alot more backing on your side at that point. Also, I bet it was never your EGR valve. Would not be smooth sailing then BAM SES light and rough idle. I think it is probably something electrical. Maybe your Camshaft Position Sensor went. This sounds similar to my issue when it went on me. 120 part with 15 minutes max replacement time with minimal tools. I would take it to get the codes read from some place other than nissan and post them up so we can help you figure this thing out.
I had an a/c hose go bad. The one from compressor up that meets at the top of engine. Common hose to go actually. There is a bulletin that sais replace o-rings and then if still leaking replace hose. It only cost me 75 dollars. Did everything here at my job

The fuel system service, will never understand it, when I went to tech school in 98 we learned that a fuel system service was performed on old cars getting crappy gas mileage, but for some odd reason it is sold at every and any dealer you walk into
it's not needed, my buddy just had it performed on his 2006 Dodge Ram 5.7, no improvement in gas mileage, the diagnostic charge is usually waved after work is actually performed, considering your bill was 1500 dollars they should have waved the 90 dollars.Another observation, from what I usually did, if you had to replace say AC lines, then you just charged the customer for the cost of the AC freon, you don't charge someone for a service cause you need to recharge the system.

Looking at your list I would say, 3,4 & 5 was just an extra 500 you did not need to spend, but seeing how your out of your comfort zone, are pressed for time and cannot do it yourself, you had to take it to the dealer/
Lastly the Detail, their are many quality detail shops that will do 10x the quality of work that the dealer charges for the same price, many of the Nissan/Infiniti forums have guys who have been referred as greta places to go and get your car detailed.
Anyways good luck, I feel your pain, Im in GA going to school and all my tech/mechanics are home in NY
