95 maxima with 150k: a good buy?

Paid a grand total of $800 for the beast. A good buy? All that is "wrong" with it is an rear O2 sensor.

From the photos, it looks to be in good shape. I think you can't go wrong for that price.

I have a 96 maxima with these rims on it. I think i will swap them out. Kind of embarrassed with the current rims.

Looks like very clean car, for 95 maxima, the millage is relative low. $800 is a very good buy in my opinion.

The engine looks really clean, too. Of course, it's hard to tell from the photos.

agreed. you cannot go wrong for $800 unless it is a mechanical mess.

in 2004 I bought a 95 with a horrid paint job, bad body (on the passenger side I think it had scraped a guard rail and been poorly repaired) and blown suspension but perfectly good drivetrain for $1100 with 180k on it. I drove it until summer 2009 when it finally had about 230,000 miles on it. in the mean time I set the bone stock NA 4th gen 1/4 mile record with it, used it as winter beater and bad weather duty (keeping my nicer 4th gen for the nice days). all I ever had to do on it were pads and rotors, an alternator, a used crank pulley, and replaced two injectors. parts totalling probably $200 over the 6 years i had it, and I parted the thing out and made more than I put in to it, and I still have lots of parts left.

yes it is. it was unbelievable to me too but it ran 14.32 and some other 14.3s also that day so it wasn't a fluke run (it was good track weather and I pulled some of the best street tire 60' times I've ever pulled, 2.0s many times that day).

first time I ever had it at the track it went 14.51 which blew my mind. that was 3 tenths better than I'd gone about 5 years earlier in my previous stock 4th gen (but that time at the track was my first time ever, so it stands to reason that 400 passes and 5 years later I'd be better).

i donno. its cheap if u are just planning to DD this thing. but when i went from a 5 speed maxima to a auto, i truly felt depressed driving it. i didn't like it.

i hate auto maxima's.

my white 95 maxima is the one car that i just regret selling. so much work went into it. and it was awsome. i loved that car. stupid of me to sell it.

Definitely buy it! 150K is nothing and for $800 you can't beat the price.

I cleaned it after I bought it. It was not dirty at all. Just wanted to clean it up a bit. Not leaking oil or anything.

looks like it got a lot of sun on the right hand side since the paint is "peeling" on the doors and a little bit farther too from the doors.

EDIT: maybe paint the two passenger side doors?

EDIT2: Spoiler has the same kind of damage.

it wasnt running when i got it I replaced the starter drove it home.

$50 to the previous owner but 700$ in starter alternator and battery and dmv fees to put it on the road. Runs perfect in great condition

it was broken down in a safeway parking lot and the previous owner didnt want to tow it home.

198k miles engine was replaced factory new at 140k.

yeeah the stock honeycombs on the early GLE'S always seemed to make the car look older then it really was, they dont look to bad when cruising though ^^

Set it up with some decent rim's and it will shine !

WHOA ! forgot to check out page 2 ! Man the car looks major hot with those rims ! Are those from a 350z ? The maxima looves bigger tires/rims notice how the stock wheelgap has changed.

2004 G35 coupe

EDIT:

I can tell the wheel gap on the rear, not so much in the front.
