Hard start solved - resest ECU after EGR job
Hard start solved - resest ECU after EGR job
I didn't see this one coming. replaced my plugged up EGR tube recently. cleared the EGR code. all seemed fine except I soon developed a hard start problem when engine was hot. checked out every sensor I could think of but no dice. then i got the thought that maybe the ECU had compensated the fuel injectors for the plugged EGR. now with a new EGR tube the car breathes differently, and therefore maybe the A/F is out of whack causing the hard start.
so I reset the ECU (by disconnecting the battery overnight) and voila! problem solved. the car starts and runs awesome at all temperatures. really it hasn't run this well in years (maybe a little placebo, but the strong starts are for real).
I guess just erasing the EGR code is not enough to tell the ECU to re-learn the fuel map...

how long did it take you to replace this tube? i think thats what i have to do, i got p1400 and p0400 intermediately , don't know if i have to replace whole egr valve with cleaning tube? any suggestions?
