white lithium would be a good choice. What you learn over time is that things like PB Blaster and WD40 are not lubricating oils. They are a bunch of chemicals for penetrating into tight spots and getting them free. You should always use oil, grease or whatever is appropriate after you free something up with PB Blaster or WD70.

I agree that WD-40 and PB-Blaster aren't good lubricants.

Good luck getting any white lithium grease into the hinges where it is needed. In my experience it only makes a mess around the problem, but doesn't penetrate to where it is needed.

I find that a light creeping oil works for hinges. Put a drop or two where gravity plus the oil's attraction to metal will get it into the hinge.

don't know the guy, but he said exactly what I've discovered to be the truth.

I generally save my used motor oil, and if you don't mind a bit of clean up, it works great to keep the hinges oiled. Plus it's free.

For the door hinges, I like to use auto trans fluid. It can creep its way into tight spots. For the bar that holds the door open, white lithium would work as well as other types of lube.
