Kendall Synthetic Blend and Mighty Oil Filters?

I noticed a lot of shops recently selling Kendall Synthetic Blend Oil with Mighty Oil Filters for ridiculously low $19.99 - $29.99 prices. Anyone have an opinion on this oil and/or filter on a 2003 Maxima with 36K miles?

The local dealer now charges $40 plus fees for a basic dino oil change!

Crap.

DIY with better quality products, or simply go back and have the kendall every 2-3k miles.

Your choice.

I'll NEVER put that crap in MY engine.
I'm sure it'd be FULL of varnish and sediment....but that's just me.

gr

**As info: my dad just bought a new Toyota 4Runner, and it comes from the factory with M1 in it.
Toyota is now recommending 10k for BREAK-IN service / oil changes, and the local dealership offers $20 M1 oil changes + filter!!** ....just sayin'....

Here's another question, I normally only put on about 5K miles per year on my 03 Max (currently 36K miles on it), so how often in months wise can I go before changing my oil and filter since the 3000 miles doesn't really apply to me? How many months should I go rather than miles do you all think?

Thanks!

So, do any of you have performance data and viscosity data to say these things are crap? I've never heard of the stuff before, but that doesn't mean the stuff is junk.

I'm very capable of using the Google's on the internets. Looks like there are quiet a few automotive places using it. If it were junk, I would think that would be to large of a liability for those companies.

I'll still stick to my Mobile 1.
