Anyone have big feet and a 6MT?
Anyone have big feet and a 6MT?
About the only complaint I have about the 2002 6MT I just got is that the brake pedal sits unusually close to the accelerator pedal. The edge of my shoe near the ball of my right foot seems to hang up on the bottom corner of the brake pedal when I use the gas pedal.
Curious if anyone else has noticed this, or is it just the way I use the pedals?

My bad, it was only 10 million, 300,000 miles. Missed a decimal point
Yes, I tend to drive with my foot 'angled' to the right across the gas pedal. Guess I'll have to develop better foot posture.

@phatboislim: Haha, what a jokester!
I had the same problem as you, OP. I wear 12 4Es and it took a bit of foot re-training to get my feet out of their own way. The only issue I have now is that the toe/right-side edge of my right foot rubs against the plastic against the firewall down there. I'm glad there is plastic there, as carpeting would have rubbed off long ago, but it squeaks when wet.
Given time, you'll be able to sort everything out.

A friend of mine wears a size 15 shoe and has no such problem with the pedals. It might just be the way you're used to hitting the pedals. I personally have a habbit of only using my big toe and/or the inside ball of my foot for the gas and clutch pedal and my feet never get hung up on the brake.
I heel and toe a lot when im driving so i actually have bigger pedals, and although the look ugly the help out alot when it comes down to driving, I wear a size 12.5 and i find the pedals to far a part.
I side step the pedals. They arent close enough for me to heel and toe. Any pics of said ugly pedals?
He needs a driver mod.....The reason they're close is for proper Heel N Toe operation....you just need to practice more Sir or wear cowboy boots!

If I wore cowboy boots, I would have kept my F-150
But yeah, after a couple of days driving it I am getting used to keeping my heel more directly in line with the gas pedal, not having it slanted off to the left.
Wife never complains about my big feet, though
