trunk board

Yo Yo Maxima pros -

lookin for ideas about repairing or replacing the trunk board- the piece between the mat and the spare. Mine's warped, and one of the centering pieces popped off the rivet.

Ideas or reccomendations please . . .

I just traced the original pos cardboard onto a 1/4" plywood and cut it out. Came out just fine.

Don't know where you are in PA, but an Org member in central NJ makes nice replacements. I'll find his name somewhere.

Thanks to everyone for the information. Does anyone know what town djfrestyl resides in? I am thinking about picking it up rather than having it shipped. Looks like a perfect solution.

I am considering that option. Did you switch over the centering plastic pieces? I am referring to the black plastic parts riveted to the board that keeps the cover from shifting around. Also, is the 1/4 plywood strong enough, or did you put anything under it to support it - such as the cubes (apparently they sit on the spare tire) glued on to the origional cover?

It wouldn't hurt to move those things over from your old piece. That way you'll know for sure it won't go sliding around in turns. Although, I think mine only has one plastic piece left and it does't budge.

I can bolt the black plastic pieces to the board, so that's easy. The block type material (spacers that rest on spare tire) is glued. If it doesn't come off intact, any ideas on what type of material to replace it with?

Also, if the spacers do come off, any reccomendations on glue to use?

After reviewing all of the super information posted here, I ordered a carpeted trunk board from djfrestyl.

He tells me it will be shipped monday, and I will likely recieve it Tuesday.

I will post feedback about quality of the product and the service / delivery and such.

Thanks again to you all for the information.
