I rock 5mm in front and 15mm in rear in the summer for the summer wheels (17x8+45, 235-45-17 or, depending on my mood, 18x8.5 +33, 245-40-18) In the winter I rock out with OEM 17's using 10mm in front and 15 mm in rear (235-45-17 )

Why not just get H&R's? Even the 5's come w/ longer studs.

Both my summer wheels/tires rub w/ 10's in front, so keep that in mind if you do go w/ 10's. What's your current width/offset/tire now in front?

summer -18x7.5 35mm and tires are 225/40/R18
winter - 17x7.0 40mm and tires are 215/55/R17(all stock)

interesting fact with the 10s.. when you ride with the 5s I take it you use the extended studs you use for your 10s?
i take you do not rock any of them with out extended studs then...

 

5mm you'll be safe with stock studs, anything over 5mm you need extended studs.

 

I'm running 3mm's up front and 5mm's on the rear with stock threads.

 

I got H&R 20mm rear, 5mm front.

I used the slightly longer studs for the front because it only took 1 minute to knock the old ones out and put new on.

Now I gotta roll the rear fenders cause I have slight rubbing if I hit a good sized bump.

Just count the amount of turns the lug nut makes as it gets tight. Rule of thumb is you should have 12mm of thread engauged for a 12mm stud. You need 10 turns (10x1.25= 12.5mm).

 

OK, pardon my ignorance here but with stock wheels what realistic differences do you notice with the spacers?

 

Not much. I had spacers on for a bit before my accident and didn't notice any handling differences. It just makes the tires more flush with the fender.

 

I get that wheel spacers are all about appearance, but 5mm? That's such a small measurement, it's hard to imagine why that would matter.

Do you really notice?

 

20mm spacers in the rear are recognizable for sure. you feel better grip, and the back dose not want to budge at all when turning hard. It kinda feels like you have 500 lbs in the trunk but just without all the weight if that makes any sense.
I can see what ur saying, and its why i havent done it yet. It seems pretty pointless. But after a while of procrastinating (1 yr) it seems like it would be more viable now since i dont have any other mods going on.
5mm I would notice. no one else in the world would though, maybe on here via pics but thats it. to give you another idea some people dont even notice the 20mm in the back.

I'm all about doing mods where I'm the only one who can appreciate it (engine bling, for example). But IDK... 5mm is a pretty subtle mod. And these spacers aren't exactly bought for pennies, either.

u r crazy don't do that. and go with aftermarket all u need to know is 14mm Knurl and your spacer size determines the lengths u need
