LOL I just bought a set of fogs and I was scratching my head a minute ago about the install. And I checked here and what-cha-know!

Thank you!

Most Maxima's are wired from the factory as far as the chassis harness is concerned...It may need the fuses, relay, stalk, and fog lamps too make work! Or you can wire in a aftermarket light if you know your wiring.....

Where would I find the relay, stalk, fuses? Do most nissan certified store carry it? Or do I have to search on ebay?

i dont think you can get them factory anymore. atleast not the stalk. i wouldjust scour junkyards till you find it all on one car.

That seems like a lot of hard work for a simple install... Don't most 99' maximas come with the wiring and hardware? Im not sure.

what is a lot of work? removing the stuff from a car at a junkyard? it takes about 5 minutes to remove the stalk. another 5 or so to remove the foglights. then about 10 minutes to remove the brackets as long as the bolts arent all seized. these are over estimations too.

your car comes will all the wiring in the right place. but thats it unless your car came with them.

I have a complete set for the 95-96 for sale. [lights, brackets, stalk, fuse]
The wiring and the mounting holes are in all the cars already. You may need to cut the fog covers off your bumper though.

I already have the fog lights, I'm just saying that by reading these instructions I see that I need a relay, stalk, fuse, which apparently are hard to find.

Finding a Maxima in a junkyard in my town is hard to find. Although many 99' Maximas I've seen people driving, look like they belong in a junkyard...

97 Fog Light Install

I have a 95 SE with factory installed fog lights, also own a 97 GLE without them Was at the pullapart getting parts for the 95 when the wife suggested putting fog lights on the 97.

I had previously read this thread and figured everything was there, all the wiring would be present, all I would need is the lights, the brackets, the relays/fuses and the turn signal stalk, no problem right?

So I look behind the bumper, wiring is there, good deal! Located brackets and lights from a 96 I believe, all I needed was the turn signal stalk.

I pulled one from a 96, got it home and the first issue was the plugs currently in the turn signal don't match up to the one from the 96. Is it safe to assume then that only 97 - 99 turn signal stalks are the only ones that will work? Or in other words, 95 and 96 will not work?

Then I also noticed that the 96 had the extra wire and connector to plug into the wiring that is supposed to be taped to the steering column. So I search and search and never find this plug on the 97.

So back to the pullapart and I do find a 97 without fog lamps for comparison. It is pre-wired for the lights at the bumper but on the steering column there isn't a plug for the turn stalk connector. According to the instructions there should be right?

So there is a Niles part number stamped on the 96 turn stalk with fog light switch, NILES 14509. The 95 has one of NILES 14511 (but even 95's on the pullapart had the 14509). Courtesy Nissan list the part number as the same as 25540-0L700 listing it with and without fog lights. That connector has to be there right?

Anyway, if only a 97 and up will work, I've got to go to another pullpart since the one I went to didn't have any 97's and up with factory installed fog lights.

So in summary:
1. Only 97 and above turn stalks yes or no?
2. There IS a connector for the separate lead for the fog lamps on the turn stalk right?

Thanks!
