Bank 2 Pre-Catalytic Converter Replacement

Has anyone successfully replaced the Bank 2 (radiator side) pre-cat with using the OEM gaskets?

I purchased an Eastern Cat (40387) and its not going to work (as some threads have concluded already) with the OEM gaskets. I am trying to find if any after market manufacturers make an actual direct replacement cat, identical to the factory one.

On DiscountCatalyticConverters.com, I found an "EvanFischer" brand cat that looks like it doesn't have the ring in the middle that the Eastern has which causes it not to work. Anyone ever tried this one?

FWIW, I replaced my precat about 2 months prior to my accident. I got the Eastman precat and did NOT install the OEM gasket. I did not notice any leaks and never had a problem.

Funny you say that. I was just thinking about that while I was writing up this thread. I just text'd my buddy who tried to install the Eastern this weekend and said it wouldnt work with the gaskets. I think he's tired of working on it. I know I am.

Anyways, I'd still like to know if anyone has successfully installed an aftermarket cat with the OEM gaskets and/or tried to EvanFischer cat.

Too add, I even ground off those little "feet" on the OEM gasket. Though the gasket seems to fit in the precat, I had trouble with that whole setup mating up with the header flange.

Do you have a link for the 50 state pre-cat? The only California cat I can find on the Magnaflow website is the regular cat.

Seen it at carstuff.com for a 03 universal 50 state legal front 250 and rear 200 don't know if you would have to weld it in or not though but cheaper than nissan when its all said and done...
