Car doesn't want to start
Car doesn't want to start
I am really stumped.
About 2 months ago my car started not wanting to crank up. It was acting like a dieing battery, yet not. The car would turn over once but then run out of juice to go over again. But you could do it over and over for a few minutes before the battery started to really die. Most of the time it would eventually start. I checked everything, connections are good, alternator runs at 14V+.
Oddly tho, the battery would sit at 12.5V or so yet the car wouldn't start well.
It got worse and it would not start at all. I went and bought a new battery and wow! Starts great!
Problem is, it's doing it all over again....
What is wrong? Battery is strong, starter is maybe 2 years old, connections are clean, alternator is charging.

Well I guess I am not the only one stumped.
Good/bad news, the starter gave out. No clicks or any attempt to turn over, lights don't even dim. So I am safe to assume that is the culprit.
Let this be a lesson to all, NEVER ever buy a starter from autozone. The first one I bought lasted 5 days, that should have been a sign to not get another.
I ordered a beck arnley, should be here monday!

Auto, i wish it was manual. Wouldn't even complain. I have everything but a clutch plate and a free weekend to make it 5spd
I drive the car 300 miles a week. Autozone electrical stuff is just crap

I bought a starter from AZ in 05'. Still works good. Almost 50k miles. The first one was defective though after only a few months. I guess you either hit or miss. Try replacing it. Yours shoulda came with a lifetime warrenty.
