DO NOT deal with hove75

I usually don't complain about many things, and would like to preface this by giving my apologies for being so lengthy, and he said - I said... I just want to make sure the entire story is here. Including PM's and texts as well since there isn't anything personal in them.

Last November I was in the market for larger injectors for my S/C 3.5 motor swap setup since stock ones weren't cutting it. Decided to go with this guy, Kurt aka hove75, since he was selling an EU as well for a really good deal.
Here's the FS thread:

http://forums.maxima.org/4th-generat...mate-more.html

Turns out he had sold the EU but still had the injectors for sale. He quoted me $250 shipped. Since I was on a tight time table to get these in for a dyno session, I agreed and also sent him an additional $25 for express shipping and did it as a gift so he wouldn't have to eat PayPal fees (since he asked for me to do so).

Here's the PM's

Shipping would be to ZIP 27265, if you can do a 2-3 day shipping option (and ship them out on Monday) I'll give you the full $700. My final question is if you can download the CD info online?

Let me know, ready to send payment as soon as you get back with me

Thanks,
George
Sorry man I just sold the emu yesterday if u still want the injectors I'll give them for 250 shipped thanks kg
Hey KG,

Sucks about the EU but I'll take the injectors. Was trying to buy some from another member, but he's really slow at getting back with me. Let me know your Paypal, and please promise me you will ship these out Monday morning. I really am working on a tight time table (dyno tuning scheduled for Monday of next week, Dec. 6th) if you can send them like express shipping or 3day I'll send you an extra $25 to cover the additional costs.

Thanks,
George
Text me 917-***-**** kurt
He had them sent out the next day and I got them 2days afterward. All good.

I installed them the next day and when I started the car, it started right back up. There was no difference in AFR whatsoever with no adjustments made at all. One would expect that with injectors almost 2x as large as stock that with a fresh start, idle would be rich as hell without lowering the fuel pressure. So I decided to take the car out and see if it was just luck that it fired right up and was idling so well (bear in mind I don't have IACV in my car either). First time I got on the gas there was no change at all (AFR kept shooting up to the 14+ range above 4k even at 50psi base pressure and 80psi max).

SO, I texted Kurt about it, and he went off on a rant on how he had the injectors flow tested by JWT and that the reason they're not working is because I'm using a stock FPR... I explained that I have been using an AFPR for over a year, and I then simply asked him if he might have accidentally sent me the wrong injectors or something simple. He got really defensive and accused me of calling him a liar and yadda yadda. I said I wasn't calling him a liar and that maybe he either made a mistake, that JWT sent him the wrong injectors, or that JWT made a mistake on their end.
From texts - quite a few, sorry:

ME: I made no changes to my fuel setup prior to the install, and it runs exactly the same as before
KURT: Do you have a fuel pressure regulator? they take 42 psi and more
ME: Yeah, its set to 45psi at idle
ME: The car should be mad rich at idle by comparison to my old setup and it's exactly the same
KURT: Well that's how I was running it with the emu and it was fine
KURT: Are u using a safc
ME: Yeah
ME: I have alot on the line here with very little time, are these 530cc or not? I need to know
KURT: on your fuel rail you have a stock fuel pressure reg u need to remove it its holding it back
ME: If they aren't, just tell me and I'll send them back to you
KURT: Wtf u think i have time to play games
KURT: Yo home boy just send them back and your money will be refunded
ME: I have no stock FPR on my rail. I have a FPR and a FMU, and at 75psi they aren't flowing any more than stock injectors
KURT: ASAP
KURT: If you look at the rail you'll see 2 FPR one from the tank and one going back in the tank
ME: I'm not calling you a liar, but you might have been lied to about them
KURT: Just send them back
KURT: Let me no when u send them and ill refund u
KURT: Ok check the post and you'll see the flow test
KURT: Better yet ill take a pic of the test when I get home
KURT: Or even better just send them back
KURT: Ill refund u
KURT: Np
Sent him a PM with my PayPal info on 12/6/2010:

My Dad was going in and out of the hospital during this time, and it was basically the holiday season at this point. I bought some 600cc injectors from DW's (great company btw - overnighted me a set cause of my situation) and then got the car dyno'd. I was busy with work the next few days after the dyno and I, at some point during cleaning up the garage, lost the box he sent the injectors in and asked him to send me his shipping info so I could send them back, so on 12/10/2010 I sent him:

George
I was going to file a complaint with PayPal since i didn't hear back from him after a week, but since I had sent the money as a gift, there wasn't any way to contest the payment. Never heard from him again.

Couple months passed and I started thinking about it again. So I sent him another PM on 3/21/2011:

I was dealing with quite a few financial and legal things with my family, and since we have a family lawyer, I spoke with him about the situation. He told me that, since I was given a promise in writing, if I wanted to, I could pursue legal action in this situation. He gave me a breakdown of how we could pursue it that I forwarded on to Kurt in this PM on 3/27/2011:

I will however ask that you send my refund prior to me shipping them to you though (seeing as I sent you my money on good faith in the first place and received injectors that were not what you told me they were - or in which you were lied to about).

I don't want to have to contact your local authorities and mess with all that if I don't have to, but you're really not leaving me that many other options. This is an almost petty matter at this point; you said you would refund me my money if I sent them back, and when I asked for your shipping information you never responded back. I have every correspondence between you and I logged should this need to go further than you manning up and refunding me my money. I have already discussed this matter with my family attorney and shown him all our forum correspondence and text messages you sent me. He feels there's a very valid case to be made should you not try to rectify the situation. I have given you 3 months to respond to me at this point, and will at this point give you a 30 day ultimatum until I take it up with your local authorities and the FBI's internet fraud agency as well as filing a lawsuit against you. I will also be informing the Forum's administrators of the situation and forwarding them the correspondence as well should I not hear back from you promptly.

So, with that, please get back in touch with me with your mailing address and refund my money as soon as possible.

George
He finally replied after several months within 12hrs:

On top of that you said I could send them back to you for a refund on December 3rd. I told you I needed your address because I had thrown away the packaging you had sent them in. Since that time until this morning you never replied to any of my queries, and even still haven't provided me with a return shipping address.

If they're fine and something was wrong on my end, then that's fine and you can turn around and re-sell them to your heart's content. Like I said in the texts, this might be JWT's fault in sending you back the wrong injectors, i don't know. All i know is the current injectors I have work fine and are almost too rich for my setup at 10psi and yours couldn't even handle 6psi and I even had to raise the pressure for it to run the car unboosted. I just want the refund you offered even if it's in payments, I don't care.
Haven't heard back from him since then.

So, that's where I'm at right now. Out $275 with no resolution.

What a b!tch! Just go ahead with your lawyer and get your money that way because he is obviously not willing to cooperate or backing up his own word.

Rule No. 1 when dealing online with a private sale: DO NOT SEND PAYPAL AS GIFT!

Add the Paypal fee to the amount so the seller gets his "wanted" amount.

It truly saves you when you need it the most!

That said, good luck with your transaction.
