At a loss, I have only used premium(93), routine maintenance is up to date and I am getting a hollow "ticking" sound when letting off the gas pedal while in gear, does not happen while out of gear.

Possible KS or...

I have had the Park Neutrlal switch code for sometime but was told this should affect nothing except the reverse lights coming on- was I given bad info.

Edit- I did Seafoam the car recently and the ticking/knocked started a week or two after, anyone else have similar issues?

 

just went to the gym and sounds worse, car is going to the doctor tomorrow >.<

 

a piece of sludge could have come loose during the seafoam flush and became stuck in one of the oil passages in the cylinder head. blocking oil from lubricating one of the valves or lifters.

 

stopped to get the SES light codes and pulled p0011 & P0021

Intake valve timing control(codes for both banks)

Is this just a timing issue?

Something has probably gunked up the IVT solenoids. You should be able to pull them off and blow them out with compressed air. Hopefully the problem is there and not in the internal oil passages leading up to them.

When you did the Seafoam, was that to clean out the throttle body or did you use it as an oil flush? If you didn't use it as an oil flush, then you might want to consider doing an oil flush and see if that knocks anything loose.

 

In that other thread I forgot to mention that I had used seafoam and did an oil change 2 weeks before I got the symptoms. I guess some gunk got stuck in there, but didn't cause problems for a couple weeks, idk.



Op: I used brake cleaner to blow out the solenoid and sprayed some down the oil passages. Problem solved for me.

 

you guys were dead on, oil flush and change and it runs like a top again.
