Hello, I was wondering what would be the appropriate tires to wrap 6th Gen Maxima rims on a I30. I'm trying to keep my speedometer working as it should since I live in a cop heavy area of DC.

Right now my rims are 18 inches and theyre wrapped around 245/45 tires. My speedo is about 8MPH off (found out the hard way). I also notice the car has the "donked out" stance due to the tires being more bigger than it should be.

Anyways, what would be a good tire to put on the Maxima rims?

The OEM tires on your I were they 17" or 16"? If so for 18" rims 235/40-18 would be a good size. Just looked it up on tire rack. Those are the closest tires to actually stock size so that your speedometer would be ok.

The OEM tires on my car were P215/55R16. Of course, I do not have the OEM tires since I bought the car used and it came with the Maxima Rims

 

Alright then well you can always take a look at tire rack as if you would be new wheels. Look it up by vehicle. And it will show you the recommended tire size for you car and the different sizes according to wheel size. That's how i look it up for my car when i went from 15" to 17".

 

Sounds good. Now how could I see how each tire (not rim/"wheel" would look on my car? I do not want my tires to look skinny. A lot of people were telling me that if I went lower than 230 it would look bad

 

Now i haven't seen a website that actually can do that so hopefully someone can find out about that. Ill see what i can find. You can also use this: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html it will use the stock tire which you input and compare to the tires that you want and it will show how off the speedo will be. It won't be accurate.

 

I think those look great! I personally love the i30t rims. They make it look great.

 

I'd go with a thinner profile tire because the 245/45R18 is just too bid.Plus it will look sporty.Maybe 245/40R18?

 

Ideal for the front is 235/40/18
Ideal for the rear is 245/40/18
