How long does the battery last on it? My 630 lasted 6 hrs when new.. it's down to about 1.5hrs now.. considering this for a replacement to my wife's POS Toshiba...

I can still get 3 hours sometimes, for the most part at least 2 hours

This guy agreed to take my money on 10 Feb 2012, but had already sold the computer to someone else. I paid him on 13 Feb and got confirmation from the other buyer today that he recieved the computer. The computer recieved was not as stated, but Ill let the other guy dispute that.
I'm out $129 and not have had contact with this "Michael Johnson" since last friday, 10 Feb 2012.
If anyone knows him please inform him that I need a full refund. A paypal dispute has been started. I just hope that this was a misunderstanding and will update with progress

Mike, I got the laptop but its not a D630 rather a D620. All would be well except the D620 is known to have issues and I would have reconsidered buying knowing such. I was looking to upgrade the CPU and I'm glad I didn't buy one as these two systems take different chips.

What gives? Did you have multiples and mistyped the model number? Did I get the wrong laptop? Got a D630 somewhere with my name on it?

edit: Also the 1.83 is actually 1.66.

edit edit: not saying the HD wasn't "Brand New HDD" but it has a date of 1/28/08. 4 years old?

I bought one as well on Feb 1. It showed up Feb 14, and my wife left it in the box for me until I got home from Africa this morning..

The one I got was also a D620 with a 1.66 processor, and only a 60GB HDD--with the retainer screws on the drive missing. It's got a fresh install of Windows 7 on it, but the label on the bottom is for XP.

Nonetheless, this product has been misrepresented. Not cool dude. I expect a full refund of purchase price and a UPS pickup label for return shipping.

I'll give you until the 22nd to resolve this, or I will file complaint with Paypal as well.

You will need to resolve these problems ASAP... We cannot allow you to sell misrepresented products on the site.

Please comment with an explanation.

As far as the battery lasting 3 hours sometimes, mine goes from 99% to 7% in about 8 minutes. I wouldn't call that at least 2 hours. It goes into hibernation within 10 minutes. Definitely not as advertised.

Check your email Mike. I'm with Matt in looking for a quick resolution or working with paypal for such.

recieved mine in today. It is also a d620 not a 630 as stated in the thread. It also has a crack int the screen on the top-left side and lower right side.
This is unacceptable Mike, if I would've know this, I wouldn't have bought it. i even stated through our conversation via paypal that another member recieved the wrong laptop and you still sent me a mis-represented one.
I will be writing you through paypal aswell, but I expect a full refund+shipping or I will be filing a claim. I will give you untill 28 Feb 2012 to refund all of us our money, that is more than enough time.

you can notice the crack (black lines) on the left, bottom right, and top right side

Possibly so. At least 3 of these went out and none were as described. That would be kind of hard to dispute in person.

I did get an email from him and we are working on a resolution. I will update when all is final.

Since we're not a violent group and threatening violence against another member is not only a bannable offense but infact illegal, I assume you're insinuating you plan to toiletpaper his house and buy the guy a beer afterwards?

Dude, it's only a computer.. not worth violence. legal action? maybe..

Because that's usually what people have in mind when you mention things like that. This is a board full of kids, not lawyers.

Mike and I have settled this through email and he has given me a partial refund. Although it is not the laptop that I expected, after the refund I feel that I can work with it. I could flip it on ebay tomorrow and make money so I have no complaints.

sent from my Dell D620

I still haven't heard from the guy regarding return shipping... he refunded the money on the computer, but I'm not going to do a thing with it until I have a call tag or payment of my UPS fees. it'll sit in my office and rot I guess.

im in the same boat, I got confirmation yesterday that the refund went through, but no money for shipping...

If the screen wasn't all cracked I would use it for a tuning computer, but the cracks make it hard to see some parts and I just found out that the battery charger doesn't work

Seller emailed me last week and apologized for listing stuff incorrectly, said he made a mistake when listing the computers. (obviously)

Still no word on return shipping though.

Pretty much. It's sitting in my office in the box it was shipped in. I'm waiting on the seller to send a pickup tag or refund the shipping. I'm not going out of pocket to return an item that was misrepresented.
