Interesting. Sounds real raspy. Maybe it's just the camera quality. I'll have to wait to see the car up at Car Club or somethin'.

Congrats on getting it done, won't lie I wish you hit the dyno before/after so you could see what they actually did.

Wish you had install photos, not bad from what I can muster, looks like the OBX's for the 02-03's though, which can easily be modded to fit of course, props on the install, should help that car breathe!

Nice...I think with a nice exhaust step, you'll probably achieve the G37 sound. You should do a true duel as your next mod.

You keep doing it big bro, much props on this. How does the seat of the pants pull feel? Do you feel more up top (as I suspect) or is there a vast difference down at the bottom?

if you want down pipes this is your best bet go to cattman performance and call brian and ask him for the ALTIMA SE-R "B-pipe" its NOT EXACT fit but any muffler shop should have absolutely no issues installing it and if you want a good exhaust shop in the bronx ny area my friend CARLITO is THE BEST muffler guy ive ever been to in my life
this is his number 203-919-4637 if he doesnt pick up hes always @ the shop between 9am-7pm MONDAY-SATURDAY (CLOSED SUNDAY) the address is 1125 bronx river AVENUE bronx ny (tell him WALLY sent you)

the Altima SE-R B-pipe is a 2.5inch inlet and splits to dual 2inch pipes for your exhaust and it comes with a high flow resonator so you wont loose any low end power but only gain low/top (im doing this because i need some back pressure)

and dont tell him your putting it on the 7th gen cause he might be like "oh its not gonna work" but trust me it will with just a little bending and welding it will fit, and my friend carlito will give you the BEST PRICES trust me if your in NY area its worth the trip unless you like going to chop shop exhaust shops which is a big HIT OR MISS and you will leave with exhaust leaks.

"B-pipe features:
The Cattman Performance b-pipe for the 02-06 Altima and 04-08 Maxima (part #CBB-G6) is a high-performance exhaust part that allows the customer to choose which mufflers to install. All mufflers/rear sections (also known as axle-back exhausts) designed to properly connect to the stock b-pipe will fit the Cattman b-pipe.

This gives the customer 3 options: keep the stock mufflers for the ultimate stealth effect; use ready-to-install performance muffler/rear sections; or select a favorite universal muffler and have the rear sections custom-fabricated. The design is very similar to the b-pipe in the Mossey catback, but the Cattman version is sold without mufflers and has a large resonator that reduces volume and increases sound quality (the Mossey b-pipe has no resonator).

The Cattman b-pipe includes the following features:

- 16 gauge 439* stainless steel tubes, with two sizes for maximum performance, 2.5" going down the middle and 2.0" where it splits to the mufflers. [Using 2.5" tubing to each muffler is a design error that lowers manufacturing cost AND performance!]
- Includes our exclusive 22" all-stainless steel resonator to limit volume and enhance tone. [The soundproofing material inside is stainless steel wool, with no fiberglass, which greatly extends the lifespan and is very rare today.]
- Thick, 3/8" plate carbon steel flanges that never warp, nickel-plated to resist corrosion.
- Fabricated in the USA

* Type 439 is a ferritic stainless steel with 18-20% chromium that resists chloride stress-corrosion cracking. [T409 s/s is a lesser-grade material with a lower (12%) Chromium content.] Resistance to general and pitting corrosion is approximately equivalent to that of austenitic stainless steel
types 304 and 316. Type 439 s/s actually is more resistant to stress-corrosion cracking than T304 s/s due to its lower nickel content."

with headers, y-pipe, and b-pipe you should get some really good gains in the 30whp range (no joke) and this rear section is 40% more efficient then the OEM b-pipe

nice but do you have more pics of the headers? from the vid they look like all the other altima/obx/cattman header lengths. you say long tube and i think of this

not being a ****/troll, i just want to see how long long tubes can get on a fwd v6.

sounds mean, i'd get some fat resonators to rid the rasp if you care.

That sucks.....I live in WA state and since the 7th generation Maxima meets CARB requirements the state does not require an emission test...ever.
I think it was 08' or 09' that saw this legislation for new cars and they cannot be sold in this state unless they are CARB compliant.

People always hate on the sound of an exhaust when people post videos. THe point of an exhaust is NOT to sound good and making it seem like that makes me think those people are into ricer mods. The point of an exhaust is to flow well and expel spent gases quickly and efficiently. If it does that and adds some HP IDGAS if it sounds like a golf cart lol. Props looks like a nice custom job

If that's the case, then we all would run open dump after the headers...

you are correct..they are more like "mid length" headers rather than "long tubes"....the manifolds he is using look like obxV2's

Yea, because we drive passenger cars, not race cars...

So in other words, the purpose of an exhaust system is to reduce emissions, route gasses away from the cabin, and muffle the dound of the engine so that it's not annoying to the rest of society that want to maintain a peaceful living situation.

emissions can suck it. i think emission testing should be around for all cars but less strict/stupid lol. they should only be hooking up a sniffer to see what comes out of the tailpipe under various loads. if it burns clean, pass, simple... none of that stupid check engine light evap crap. all that should matter is what comes out of the car... the rest is a scam

anyways i'm in for pics to see how long they are

Pretty impressive. Would like to hear some drive bys! Those 370z wheels match the body lines quite well too.

And I sure am glad for AZ emissions testing. They just do OBDII scans - so in AZ, O2 sims are you friend. I pass emissions with my 3" set up, headers AND a test pipe.

Kudos to you for getting that done. I'm not talented like that but for someone who can do that you get major props. It doesn't sound bad to me and like you said it doesn't matter how it sounds, it's what it does for the exhaust.

this thread is really old, OP sold his Max and bought an Evo. as far as I understand it was a one-off custom job, custom welded by a shop
