FS:Place Racing CAI

For sale is a rare find for a lucky individual. A Place Racing CAI in mint condition for those in the know. Application is for the A32 95-96. This CAI is pristine and half of the parts have never been installed. I only used the MAF adapter, long tube and filter. Whatever minor blemishes exist can't be seen under application. The rest of the parts are brand new. I enjoyed it when I had it on, but it became a hassle for me to reinstall after the too frequent Cali-Smog inspections. It sat in my garage fully packaged for several years. What I did use has low miles and the K&N air filter doesn’t even need cleaning yet. This is a top-notch quality build that only PR can provide, with a Bullet-proof Metallic Silver Powdercoat finish. Steel construction, including the MAF adapter. Those who bring up the FLEaBay knock-offs can go elsewhere. Included is the original PR installation instructions and “Cut-out Template”. Yes, you will even get the two Place Racing decals. When you show off your engine at your next Maxima meet you can show them how you saved a couple of bucks with the ebay knock-off or you can show them the real deal. Here is an opportunity for you to decide. The only way to find one cleaner than this is to revive Place Racing. Not looking for a trade. $145 OBO+shipping.

UPDATE: This item has been SOLD. Thank you, everyone , for your interest.

Pic below shows the empty box that will contain the filter. Only one filter is included.

Replied

Ok, I’m getting quite a bit of interest. So, I guess it’s priced accordingly. All PM’s have been replied. All opportunities will be dealt with in chronological order with preference given to local pick-ups.

I believe there was a question on whether the construction of the Mid-pipe was aluminum. No, it is all steel. You may tighten the coupling clamps securely all you want with steel. I wouldn’t try that with the thin aluminum ebay knock-offs. Where you tighten past the point of no return and distort the thin sealing surface. Sure it may seem to run fine at first, then the constant engine movement from all the torque will manifest itself and you will find air leakage coming in at all the clamps post MAF and drive you and your ECU insane. The ebay CAI usually needs a tube of silicon to butter up all the leaks.

Fact is you could run over the PR CAI with your Maxima and it won’t collapse. But I wouldn’t recommend that.

Pic below will attest PR thickness and build quality.

I'm out, more important things to spend $ on...

Kept the PR CAI mid-pipe & someone here just wanted the lower piece.
Will fabricate something myself!

But…But…, Gismo…, some people call these, in mint condition, “The Holy Grail of Maxima intakes”! This is the intake Stillen wished he made…… And if he did, he would be asking 550$ in $tillen Dollars for them.

You, my friend, have been officially declared out of the running.

So this only fits 95-96? Or is there a modification which can be made so it fits the 97-99?

Follow these easy steps:

1. Get the seal kit for the 95-96 to 97-99 conversion

2. Install seals

3. Plug in IAT sensor

4. Done!

IAT in Mid-airstream where it belongs
