Got bored with the silver G35's and there were some blemishes on them that needed to be fixed anyway so I sanded them down and I've always liked the way gold on black looked so...

 

It worx. I prefer gunmetal grey though

while I do think it could come down just a hair more I don't plan on slamming the car. I think at the height it's at now it looks good and I don't scrape everywhere

I too like the stock gunmetal color better, but it doesnt lookbad. Looks more like a mustard yellow rather than gold. Maybe the lighting on the pics.

 

I thought about re-doing them gunmetal but so many people have painted the G wheels that color so I decided to go a little different with it. I figured I could always repaint them again if I didn't like it so I went for it lol.

But yea it's probably the lighting because they are a little lighter gold than they look in the pics. But they are an exact color match to the Subaru BBS gold wheels. I used the Grimmspeed gold wheel paint to spray them.

Hopefully Saturday I'm going to try to do a little mini shoot with my car and a couple others so I'll throw up some more picks of it then.

What's funny is the surfacer that I sprayed the wheels with was white and after I sprayed all of them I was like hmm I wonder what that would look like so I set them next to the car and it didn't look as bad as I thought it would but it's only too much contrast being directly black to white but I have definitely seen black cars pull it off.

 

I went from gold to white. Looks good tho!

I cover around the trim a little, maybe a feet around with newspaper and plastidip them. Took me less than 45 mins to do both sides... I would have recommended it, in case you change ur mind.

 

Redoing your calipers a different color might be another thing to...red doesn't really flow

 

welp, its his choice and i say car looks fine. i dont know how op drive with tint that dark. i'd be backing into $hit all day...
