RH & LH Camshaft sprocket, different?
RH & LH Camshaft sprocket, different?
I had to take of the camshaft sprockets when I replaced the head gasket, but I didn't mark them, now they are installed in the car, but when I try to start it, it misfires, even when all marks lined up, and distributor lined up.
And speaking of distributor, in the FSM it says to line up 2 marks then install it and make sure it sits like shown in the figure, but if installed according to the marks, it is WAY off compared to the figure shown.. I always gone by the figure, so the rotor points toward nr. 1 wire.
After several hours of checking all cables and fuel tubes, injectors etc, I thought maybe the sprockets where mounted on the opposite cam.?
Any idea?

Viewed from the tranny end looking toward the passenger side the L goes on the bank closest to the radiator and the R goes to the bank closest to the firewall.....these views were actually from the driver's view in a longitudally mounted vehicle (300zx/Pathfinder)...Remember that!
