Reworked battery cables for my AGM battery
Reworked battery cables for my AGM battery
Some of you may remember I installed an AGM Werker 55ah fire panel battery in my 96. Well the Negative clamp was loose on the post causing a noticeable difference in cranking speed, as well as gouging the post.
Today I finally got off my lazy butt and fixed the cables the way Ive always meant to.
First, I removed the negative cable and modified it to run from the negative post to the grounding point under the battery tray. Then I Made a new cable to install from the block to the negative post.
Then I soldered a 5/16" cable lug to the end of the starter cable, and then I cut off the E52 and E53 connectors that lead to the relay box on the side of the battery, and soldered on another 5/16" lug.
Here was the original cable setup.

Here is the new.

The E52/E53 connectors and negative cable bracket I deleted.
