Well made the mistake of stopping by a local Honda dealership and then well the pic says it all...

Wanted an economic fun sporty car so I decided I am selling my GT. The gear box is spectacular, motor lively, suspension pretty good, the hellical lsd is way cool, good gas milage, not a bad ride for a new car under 20k.

Still going to keep my Maxima as a spare/winter car. I truly like the Maxima and after a month I have done allot of work to it and its truly a nice car.

Oh and I got smoked by a 5th generation first night I had it, I have had more people taunting me in last two days of owning it that I did in my GT for the two years I owned it. Guess I better take that Vtech sticker off the rocker panel.

Maxima I bought cheap for a winter/spare car, Civic as a commuter. I still have a 2012 GT 5.0 w/3.73 which I doubt many Maximas would try to mess with although it is for sale . When you drive 500 miles a week 30+ per a gallon makes sense, a performance 4 banger can be fun, especially with a slick 6speed manual and performance suspension.

The Maxima was not stock and I had 15 miles on the car so if I run into him again after a few tweaks he wont do so well. I wouldnt knock a Civic Si unless you have owned one there fun sensible cars.

All good, I love my Maxima I paid 2k put in a lot of work in along with another 1k in suspension repair/tires and installing a 10" bazooka sub with a 300 watt amp tomorrow to go along wih the Bose OEM speakers and aftermarket stereo I installed. Great car for being 13 years old and 140k miles as well as get 24miles to gallon average. It makes a great driver/spare car. But it still is a 13 year old car.

that is exactly how many miles I put on my 5th gen every week... and it still kicks a solid 30mpg on the highway even with my heavy winter tires on it now... summer driving gives me slightly better mpg... still there is nothing better than a new car enjoy it...

not to knock your new whip, but the maxima if maintained is faster and does just as well in the mpg catagory. my 4th gen still gets about 24 to 28 mpg as long as im not beating on it. and its paid for....

. Sure, a used 5.5 maintained right would be on par with a 9th gen SI but who cares? I'm sure it being a 2013 model with no maintenance in mind was a contributing factor. He wanted something different, not everyone wants to constantly drive a dated Nissan. Have you driven a new Civic Si? Most likely, not.

Who cares about it being paid for? Obviously, he's in the financial position to purchase a new car and it not making any statements about stretching his budget. You are most likely making this statement because you cannot afford to do so. Hey guess what, my 1998 Nissan Maxima is paid off too!

OP: I'm really digging your generations body style. Especially, the interior and general feel of the car.

Why's everyone hating? Jesus. Civics are respectful until they put a fart can on them. the newer civics AREN'T BAD. And matter fact, the stock si exhaust sounds pretty damn decent. yeah I said it.

Congrats on your purchase dude.

yes the K20's are VERY LIVE Motors Beleave it or not only reason my Buddys 08 dont stand a chance against my maxima is cause the 6 speed is geared to damn small hes goin into 3rd when my auto is goin to 2nd and i done walked a entire car on him.

Very fun cars though id deffently buy one SI only though! Cant Talk down on them unless you've drove one cause they are some strong engines and fun to drive and very good suspension!

It's a respectable car... I still preferred the civic si's with high revving v16a2 and k20 but the k24 gives it like a much needed 20-30 lbft while keeping it n/a. Now it has some ***** getting ODF.the line

Thanks for props and some hate, all good! I posted this to be a fun thread as few here seem to be so. Should hear what the Stang guys said when I told them I was considering selling my 5.0 for a Honda Civic with a gauge on the dash that tells you when the vtech kicks in, care to guess???

I wish Nissan still made a car like the 4th generation Maxima. There is no Sentra R anymore, just do not like the Altma which is now way bigger than 4th and pretty pricey with the sport package. I already have a Nissan Frontier and cannot afford a GTR so I bought a Honda as I always wanted a 2001 up red civic coupe.

Because of the updates to 2013 Civic and 2012 got a bad rap from the press there are some killer deals on these cars if you can find a motivated dealer, .9% finanacing and rebates, mine was less than 21 out the door. I also tried to look at a Scion FR S but they have a rediculas policy of not letting anyone test drive one until they buy it, not kidding.

Installed 300watt Dual mono amp to 10" bazooka sub in my Maxima today, car sound freaking good with stock Bose speakers, aftermarket HU and now the amp/sub. SO if I get stuck in the snow I will be rocking.

BTW getting 28 city and 35 hwy on second tank of gas in the SI.

Yup, as it getting 33mpg not a problem, 4 dollar more a tank. At least until its broke in. When I asked my dealer about it he said 87 was fine,
Thats what knock sensors are for!

According to the owners manual its 91 octane recommended (not required). My 5.o is same compression 32 valve DOHC same recommendation and except when running 93 race tune I have 15k mile running 87 no knocks/pings. It loses a whopping 10 hp running 87 leaving you with just 401.

How many here are putting 89 in there cars recommended?

I have Worked on a couple of 08 Nissan Sentras and let me say them cars ARE JUNK!!! Shocks were completely blown out at 80k miles all three that i seen complained that is consumes a quart a oil per 300 miles they drove (Guessing worn piston rings or valve guide seals) And when i drove them they feel cheap and overall are not a good car.

the older sentras were built much better..
