My engine light told me that me EGR valve was bad. So I replaced it...turned uot not to be my problem. The light is still on after being reset and there is a funny suction noise with a ticking sound coming from some where on the right side of the motor. Has any body ever had this problem? Please help. Its expensive replacing unbroken parts...

Did you check your EGR Solenoid? This could potentiallly be the ticking sound.

 

check your spark plugs.. if one is really bad.. then your engine will give you that ticking sound

 

ticking sound???? - i get a ticking sound when i turn off my engine....someone told me it was from the rims

 

the ticking noise is the IACV, which is located by the EGR valve.

 

If the sound occurs when the engine is off, I agree with keener that it is probably the iacv. Resetting the computer usually eliminates the ticking.

However the original complaint was that the engine code told you there was an egr problem. I found that a faulty egr solenoid can set off the ticking in the iacv.

Replace the solenoid and reset the computer.
