DON: Please help>>>>
No my trany is fine(hehe). I changed my spark plugs, and gapped them at 40. The plugs are BKR6E-11 non plat. One step colder and non plat. I thought this would work, but A soon as I hit the NOS the car is SO rich it studders(pretty scary when you add NOS to the mix). The factory plugs I took out were not that bad. Just all the xhit from using 104 octane, witch I wont use anymore. Should I go back to the stock plugs or what. I see a couple of people here use PFR6B-11 is this a plat. plug? Any help would be great. From anyone..
I used the BKR6E11 and they showed rich most of the time. I think the Platinium plugs run a little hotter. Most of the F-body NOS guys recomend that you use non-platinum plugs, they claim that the platinum causes detination. I use the PFR6B11 Platinums and they work fine.
The richness can be caused by bottle pressure, it is cold now in most of the country. How cold is it where you live? If the bottle temp is lower than 75degF you have low bottle pressure? When you get to 900psi the system will work a little different than at 1000psi so check that too. Next it could be a cloged NOS filter, bad solinoid plunger seal.
To be sure go with the most obvious, put the old plugs back in and see what you get. Perhaps your car was running ok on the stock plugs and their was no need to change to a colder plug or smaller gap, NOS claims that a 60hp shot is ok with stock plugs and stock gap, you only run a 40hp shot so I would bet that your ok with the stock stuff.
Or try going up to a larger NOS jet to match the richness...
