Just installed Cattman Y-Pipe! More Throaty Sound??

I just had my Cattman Y-Pipe installed.. All I can say is that there is a complete difference with it on. First off, my exhaust got soo freakin loud that I had to put my resonator back on. Also now I get a more throaty sound and WOT then before. Sound right to you guys??? The gains are definitely noticeable above 3K RPM.. I have a full cat-back w/exhaust too...

Yes, I would have to agree with you. I only have an intake, but I noticed that my intake sound has changed just a bit. More throaty I guess would be a way to discribe it. In terms of exhaust, I really don't know though.

I noticed that I hear a clunking noise when I floor it.. Sounds like its hitting that metal support thingy right?

it is the black cross-brace right behind the main cat.... I never had that problem though

Nope, never that the problem you described. The only time I have heard any noise was when I was accelerating hard over some railroad tracks. The whole exhaust moved and hit the cross member that UMD mentioned, other than that, no problems what-so-ever.

If I remove the cross-member will it harm anything?

probably not.... you can get some washers or spacers in between the bolts to get some extra space if you want to put it back on also.

Hmm... good idea.. I'll get a few washers and put like 3/7 inch of inch extra space.. That should be enough to clear...
