For that price, it should have come with a d1s or d2s kit, including the harness to connect it to the car(an h4 harness for a 2000-2001 maxima)

when u buy the headlights new for 999.99 the hid kit comes with it. I didn't buy them new so, I just have to buy the d1s hid kit for like $120 ON EBAY because they wanted to much in the stores out here. the d1s bulb fits perfectly in there because it's only made for them. these are not the cheap ebay lights with h3 low beams. I can add pictures if ya'll want.
p.s. I paid $170 free shipping on ebay because they didn't know what bulb and how to wire it up. lol

Once you have them installed post some pictures, I'm curious to see what a $1000 light output looks like.

surprisingly enough it looks like there actually is (was) a company called ACA that did quality projector housings for a lot of other platforms and they all got good reviews. In the world of ebay projectors thats a bit of a surprise

Lol.....such haters. Those EBay projector lenses are perfectly fine, and widely used. I've seen some fog up a little, but a dab of silicone fixes this. The El cheapo HID's are crap, but lenses are just fine.

Those ebay projector lights also do very well with hid projector retrofits.

the el-cheapo Ebay retrofits are fine in the same sense that its fine to put HIDs into halogen reflector housings and just spew light all over the road. These are not those anyhow though so its a moot point.

The only solution for this problem is to retrofit better projectors into the headlamps. Either the OEM headlamps or the cheapo ebay halogen projector headlamps. Either way its plenty of work but the results really do make it worth it.

For that price, I'll build you a nice set complete with ALL OEM components, bulbs, ballasts, harnesss, projectors, including a set of new aftermarket headlights.

A Morimoto H1Ver6 or D2S 2.0 projector would be a phenomenal upgrade on a stock housing (much higher quality). Very affordable. Retrofits seem intimidating but quite easy to DIY nowadays.

I already did a retrofitsource.com projector setup on my 2009 Altima because nobody made them for the sedan models. These headlights are not retrofit I bought on ebay from someone who bought a 03 maxima that was totaled and the headlights was new in the trunk of the car.

I bought these same exact lamps, for less than 300 the pair, that harness is so retarded, I ended up taking the oem harness out of the oem lamps and adapting it to these to the projectors. As for the light output, they look nice, I've aimed it properly and it's not as bright as the regular reflectors.

For $999 those don't look the greatest. The housing is fine and looks good but the light output and cutoff is extremely poor for that kind of money.

well thanks for your input but like I said I didn't pay that much for the lights. This picture was before I adjusted the lights and the cutoff line is pretty good.
$179 free shipping
It has more output and the color flicker is like my moms 09 maxima. We both have the same factory hid system. AWESOME
