Making trunk close tighter?

I have 2 12's in my trunk and when they hit, the trunk lid, along with other things in my car, rattle like hell. There's a lot of things i have to fix to fix this problem but im just starting with the trunk lid.. so is there a way to make the trunk lid close tighter? like adjusting the latch so that it holds it tighter? i hate the way my trunk rattles from my subs its so damn annoying.

I know that you ccan use dyno mat around the entire trunk area that would help.
Its used so the exhaust doesn't rattle the tags but works for the annoying sub rattle also

Are you sure it is the trunk lid itself and not the torsion bars?

I want to try that in the future but it's just so pricey.

you know what happened to my car?? is a 2000 SE, and water kept coming into the trunk when it rained, son once, when at a junkyard, I found a 2005 Altima, and took its trunk seal to install it in may max, I only had to trim about 3 to 4 inches off it to make it fit, so when recently changed, the trunk felt to close tighter, naturally water stoped from entering inside, comparing both seals, I found that the original one was softer than the altima one, and with a smaller diameter, hence the altima one is a better seal.

Don't expect a tighter seal to eliminate rattle. With subs, the trunk enclosure become a bass box of sorts. Every metal panel is going to vibrate and if close to another peice, make contact as well. In my experience, most rattle in the 5/5.5 gen is from the rear deck and (as mentioned) the torsion bars. If your rattle is that bad, and I'm betting it is, you are just going to have to bite the bullet and use dynomat or something on the trunk surfaces.

The torsion bars are in the trunk up at the bottom of the rear deck. They soften the opening and closing of the lid. They rattle like hell. If you find a song with a crisp bass note followed by silence you will notice them vibrate like tuning forks after the note.
I went to a hardware store bought some aluminium and foam pipe wrap. It's self adhesive. I wrapped the torsion bars and covered the entire trunk lid for like 20 bucks. It's no dynomat but it did quiet things down a bit for me.

Get new door speakers so they are louder so you don't hear the rattling in the trunk.

Unless you insulate that trunk with dynomat or something like that your license plate, rear deck and truck are all going to rattle.

Remove torsion bars and retrofit struts.
