Cross drilled and slotted rotors and brake pads.. any suggestions??

Hey guys!

So Im shopping for some new rotors and brakes for my car, any suggestions from yall? Im looking at the silver zinc ones but so many different brands!

Also has anyone done this? How difficult is it? I was just thinking of buying them and having them installed if it was a pain!?

It's easy to do. A brake job on our car is something that will be easy if you've ever done brakes before.

I have EBC sport rotors (slotted and dimpled) and EBC redstuff brake pads. Very happy with the braking power. Don't really like that they're noisier than the stock setup. But they work well, and look good too. It's a nice upgrade.

Sounds sweet! Well as far as tech savvy on brakes, nope never done them before... normally just take it but wanted to try to do them this time... my cousin was gonna help me but saying we need about a day to do, ugh... aint got time for that!

Also was looking at brake calipers, really not many out there... I see these cars have some sick rotors with calipers as well but only have found some BREMBO covers! lmao, dont think I could do that..... or has anyone done it and looks cool? Get at me guys!

Sorry to hijack the thread but quick question if you guys can help me.
I used to have an 07 350z and had just bought cross drilled and slotted rotors along with the brake pads and stainless steel lines. So any ideas if these would fit on a 2010 maxima? At least the rotors...

I would avoid drilled rotors on a street car, is makes for a louder and rougher braking experience.

Just getting the SS brake hoses may be best, that would make the pedal feel more substantial. Like others have said, drilled and slotted = more noise.

If your going for look alone then go for the slotted or drilled rotors. The aftermarket rotors are the same dimension as OEM except they are slotted or drilled which is to allow the rotors to expel heat and gas. Slotted rotors add more of a bite for the brake pads but they also wear the pads out quicker. Drilled rotors are prone to cracking since the holes actually somewhat weaken the metal.

The ebc's I have are slotted and dimpled (not drilled). The dimples are supposed to serve a similar function to drilling without actually weakening the rotor. I really like mine. The braking is strong. Not rough. Feels great under the foot. The sound is only noticeable (to the driver) when the windows are down, and I'm braking, and there's a building/fence/barrier nearby to echo the sound back. I don't actually know how noisy it is for, say, someone walking down the sidewalk as I drive by.
